Are the new Head Power Helix models available in the market? http://www.sgb-sports.com/news/fullstory.php/aid/2919/Head.html Head says its four new PowerHelix models - 5000, 7000, 8000 and 10,000 - are 56% more flexible than standard carbon thanks to the PowerHelix spiral structure which runs along the entire shaft, without losing control. The increased flexibility is designed to maximise the power release of shots. I realized that...Haha~ Care to give a review? Because I can't seem to find anything regarding this series of HEAD racquets.
some technology jargon from head: http://www.head.com/badminton/technology.php?region=eu&tag=power_helix
love it I just tried Head Helix 5000 yesterday and fell in love with it right away. Before I tried it, I thought I would like Metallix 8000 or 10000 better but they felt too heavy. Funny thing is, as per the specs, Metallix 4000 is supposed to be heavier but it felt otherwise. I also liked Nano Power 700 but Helix 5000 is the best. Before this, I used Yonex MP33 and was pretty happy with it. I had tried several Yonex racquets last year and only one I liked was Nano 9900X. Couldn't find a single web site that sells it in US but just found a shop who does. Getting my 5000 for 85$ tomorrow.
I tried Power Helix 8000. Very light racq., good overall balance, very good control, ideal for quick reactions for instance drives or defensive actions. But I do not agree with power, I was not able to create sufficient powerfull smashes so I was prone to counterattacks. Maybe you're a stonger player... I suppose that "10000" is little bit head heavier than "8000". If an advanced player want to try out the Power Helix Series just consider "8000" or "10000", otherwise she/he will be disappointed.
I tired it, as a demo at mandarin badminton. works like a charm, because its a demo its strung at 22LBS. Jump Smashes are feel great for a med flex racquet, too bad they arent alot these days, i cant choose between that of the AT900T (my all-time fave)
The Head Power Helix badminton racquets are now available in Singapore (at World of Sports outlets). Retail prices are: 5000 - S$149 7000 - S$189 8000 - S$229 10000 - S$269
Would have liked to try them but from what I've read on the website, all the rackets are medium-flex. They need to make stiff & extra-stiff version
according to the head website, the power helix 10000 is rated medium stiff and the 8000 medium flex. both the 5000 and 7000 are rated flexible. http://www.head.com/badminton/racquets.php?region=eu&tag=power_helix&id=2693 http://www.head.com/badminton/racquets.php?region=eu&tag=power_helix
anybody spotted these racquets on sale in hong kong yet? keen to buy one as a lazy racquet, had a stroll around MK last week. no joy.
Hi Paulinge, I have not tried the power helix models yet. Still playing with my metallix 4000, 8000 and 8000tour.
Hi yellowduck. Have you tried the Head Power Helix 7000 yet. Can I ask you how much does it cost and which shop do you buy it from? Do you get a lot of power from the whipping effect? Is it good for drives and clears? all the best pyshuttler
