Hi all. I am sure most of you have seen the youtube clip of Lee Dong Yae breaking a watermelon using a badminton shuttle. So what i decided to do uring my term break was see if your average badminton player could do the same. Here is the link and hope you like it! www.youtube.com/watch?v=wj6zAD8VclM
Very good accuracy, unless you cut a load out. I feel for your friend who at one stage was trying to carry it above his shoulders. Bet it was good fun to do.
Hahaha yep, thats the old ANU Gym. Lol luckily for me they didn't know i walked in with a watermelon, lol.
lol, looks like lee yong dae's watermelon challenge is getting popular and popular now with people from all around the world would wanna try this too. something new huh? haha, pity your friend who holds the watermelon for you luckily u didnt hit his face with the shuttlecock
Lol this video makes me want to try it out . The only thing stopping me is the receptionist at the front would be thinking "why are they bringing in a watermelon?" , and knowing me I probably wouldn't be able to find a person to hold the watermelon. (Just In case I hit them)
That was funny! Thanks for sharing it. Hmm, I wonder what other fruit could be used? You should buy a whole load of different fruit and test them all in the name of science!
I suggest using bananas and grapefruits... it can be a good experiment to see if badminton can be considered as a more dangerous sport than kick boxing or something, if you know what I mean.
got an idea, while some of us still pondering about what skill level we are, how about rating your smashing power by the level of object u can cause physical damage. 1. sponge cake 2. tofu 3. tomato 4. green pepper 5. soft apple 6. water melon 7. granny smith apple 8. glass fish bowl with water 9. pumpkin 10. a thick skin person
