anybody tries aeroplane shuttlecock G1130 before? I wonder how is the quality compared to yonex AS10.
It is much better than Yonex AS20 which made from Duck while aeroplane made from Goose feather. Actually, lots of people consider the aeroplane top-line is the best shutter money can buy. AS-10 vs. Aeroplane? no doubt, the difference is like day and night. AS-10 has very poor quality and very inconsistent.
I am not so familiar with the aeroplane shuttles and their nos. I know there is a Blue and Green and Black series. Would you care to share how much they cost here in Manila and where to buy them? Thanks.
can someone point me to a direction about this birdy? I am currently using Victor's gold champion, how does this compare to it? thanks.
The only other brand that is better then Yonex shuttles is VICTOR. I would have no worries about yours.
Hmmm... can't really agree with that. With different geo region, I am sure there are much more choices than u listed. With tons of local brands around here and there, there are many brands/models better than Yonex shuttle, at least $$$:quality ratio vise. The ones I use the most are: HL Champion, Aeroplane 101/202 (top model, from china), Yangyang 300B (tried several times, very nice), Alpha Tournament (besides 1 shipping is bad, good experience for relatively good and cheap shuttle) Other ones have good reputation around: Sea Lion, Tronex Gold
I used to use Aeroplane when I was growing up. Lately, I am playing in a different club which uses feather birds instead of the plastic birds and they do use Aeroplane. Aeroplane is consistent and long lasting. I would not hesitate to recommend Aeroplane. Ron
Aeroplane is excellent. It lasts long and every shuttle in the tube is consistent. I prefer Victor Blue and Champion as well..
No No No!! Aeroplane's QC had been getting worse. There was a batch where the tape peels off after a few smashes. The trajectory and speed is very unstable. I was quite disappointed since it was a "star" brand during my childhood. I am now playing RSL Tourney No.1
interestingly, many ppl in HK, like Scott, regards Aeroplane as mid-grade shuttles, while RSL Tourney No.1 as better. AFAIK there are at least two grades of Aeroplane, the 1130 and 1130SS the 1130 are the ones widely available in HK. while in the US, both types are available. i haven't tried Aeroplanes in HK. but i bought one tube of 1130 in the US before. and the quality is very good. not any lower than RSL Tourney No.1 that i tried in HK. the 1130SS i have tried a few years ago, and those are very very good
I looked at Aeroplane's website @ http://www.shuttlecockchina.com/fly-cpjs-1.htm There are 3 grades of shuttles: EG, SG and G. Within each grade there are also separate levels. So there are EG1130, EG1101, SG1130, SG1101, etc. However when I compare the 1130SS sold in the US (picture at http://www.shuttles.com/product.html) with those pictures in Aeroplane's site, I don't find any match. I am not sure which grade the US 1130SS belongs to.
Interesting to hear about fake Aeroplanes. I remember fake Aeroplanes when I started playing badmintons in the era of the dinosaurs and where the feathers were not goose feathers but rather feathers from Tyranosaurous Rex, the big one. Imagine skill and courage the early shuttlecork makers had, to run up to T Rex and pluck the feathers to make badminton shuttlecorks. And after all these years, fake Aeroplanes still exist. Ron
