I use a nanospeed 9k S with bg 80 strung at 24x24lbs. is this the optimal combination for this racket and string? i play with feather birides.

no of course...For my 9ks, I have strung it to 27lbs once and that's ok! BUT of coz the life of the string will drop!!

String type and tension are preference, and there's no right or wrong answer. You need to try, and answer your own question. NS9K is quite stiff, and 80@24 is quite stiff for most club level players. So, if you have the skill and strength you should be fine. If you do not, then you will suffer, and should change it to be lower. ;)

Usually, people will string their racquet at 2 lbs higher at the cross with respect to the string tension on the mains (example: 22X24). That way the pattern will be able to keep its isometric sweet spot. But 24X24 is not necessarily bad as I have done 24X25, just the sweet spot is little off than my other racquets.

Also to note is that NS9000 S is not all that stiff as NS8000 is stiffer than it. The most stiff racquet is NS9000 X.

I have my NS9000X and NS9900 strung to 29lbs on BG80 and they perform well. Althought hey also break much faster and all. It all depends on your level of play i suppose. I dont think there's a optimal tension else the pro's would all be using the same tension by now? xD

asking for tension preference is not unlike asking people what size t-shirt they wear, everyone will have a different answer and they are all correct!

    i string bg80 @ 24lbs and i wear size L t-shirt.

I think this response should be stuck!! It explains that mind-blowing concept that one tension/string/racket does not fit all in very very simple terms!!

Normally the cross is done 2lb or 10% higher than the mains. So 24lb(m)x26lb(c) should be best to maximise / perfect the location of the sweetspot ;)

does this mean that if the tension is like 24 X 24 vs. 24 X 26

the former will have a smaller sweetspot? while the latter bigger sweetspot?

If so, will it be more rewarding to hit the sweetspot for the 24 X 24 than 24 X 26?

Another example is to ask a guy on the street what is your idea mate's weight. You get a very wide range of answer...
By the way, the preference change over time too.

No, in regards to tension the cross has to normally be 10% more on an Iso shaped racket. With oval rackets, you can do the mains and cross the same.
The sweetspot will be more centralised at 24X26. You will probably get a smaller sweetspot but more power if you can hit the sweetspot.
