Have you joined any language school or university programs?

nope. I didn't have any formal learning from school or university. Also, what i am learning is just conversational mandarin. Writing probably is my next phase. The mp3 from Pimsleur are really good and you will get to know from the very basic even the difference in how the words are said in beijing and in southern part of china. The pimsleur is made in beijing so you'll pretty learn the beijing accent and words.... Chinesepod is base in Shanghai.
