Default My bicep hurts like h€ll when I play more than once a week …

Hello. I've been playing for 24 years or so, never had a problem before, but now if I play more than once a week, (I am supposed to be playing thrice weekly) I get a very bad pain in my racket arm bicep/deltoid/forearm. My coach has suggested it may have been due to having played with plastic shuttles years ago and now I play with feathers — something to do with the way my muscles developed within this time. The pain comes on when I smash, it gets so bad sometimes I can't lift my racket to serve. I warm up properly and I use ice as soon as it becomes sore. It has nothing to do with diet, but I am willing to entertain putting a base layer below my normal grip and the possibility that I could look at technique/holding the racket less hard (although I have a loose grip already). I also cycle with a bag on my back for 11 miles a day—this may have something to do with it. I will see an Osteopath as it's distressing—just wondered if anyone else has had these symptoms? Thanks.

Yep, just read through some of the other posts, which describe the same kind of thing. To a specialist I shall go.

More or less is likely some sort of tendon or muscle damage..
Could be severe or minor..only a specialist can tell you.
Good luck. Hope everything turns out ok

Badminton is a vigorous sport and you know how they say, "No pain, no gain?" Don't let this apply to badminton injuries. This may be more serious than you expect and one day, you won't be able to play at all. Better go see a doc!

Thanks for (most of the comments!) it's not the weight of the racket head, it's more than probable a muscle injury. I think a specialist is the best way forward. Thanks.
