HI i'm a 20 year old student who is moving from the UK to canada. I'm currently in university so i will be transferring to either UBC or UoT. I was wondering if UBC had a badminton team or a club that plays at a reasonably high level. If not within the university is there anywhere else in vancouver i should know of.

I think UBC would have some clubs with competitive players. Also, I believe there are many places in Metro Vancouver to play badminton. Couple examples: Clearone and Cleartwo in Richmond BC....

UBC club has players from beginner all the way up to high level B players. maybe even a few A. but clearone and cleartwo are where the good stuff's at.

What exactly do they run at clear one/clear two. They seem to offer some good coaching there. Not sure what level i'd class myself would have to see. But just a query what do you class as level B and level A players. If nothing else i might try both out, the badminton club and then maybe get some coaching at the centres. Also is there any difference between the two? (Clearone/Cleartwo)

C1 is the facility the owner uses for dropins and court books now. C2 is where the coaching is at...

C2 has dropins sometimes with high level players, as does RichmondPRO and Yumo.

RichmondPRO has their best drop-in on Friday nights 8-11. Be warned, you have to sign up at frickin 8am in the morning to guarantee your spot. Why? I don't know... Ask richmondpro.
Yumo... I THINK their nightshift is the main attraction. It runs until 3am and sometimes has some high level players.

It's hard to tell you how high of players are we! Btw, how high level are you? Do you have any world ranking? or better saying, what's your ranking in your country?

    I second that.

C2 can have the lowest level of players all the way up to Canadian National level players. RichmondPro has high level recreational players. Yumo... Haha I'm not sure. I've never gone for myself

I will definately be checking things out, think with coaching i have room to improve as well. Consider myself to be nearer a high level recreational
