this is the lineup as reported by Chinese media:

XD: Zheng Bo / Yu Yang vs. Lee Yong Dae / Lee Hyo Jung
MS: LD vs. PSH
MD: CY/FHF vs. LYD / JJS
WS: WYH vs. HHY
WD: YY/DJ vs. LKW/LHJ

Thinking about the XD combination again, I guess LYB doesn't want to leave anything to chance, pulling the senior players from each pair to form a "super pair"

I think so far till today, nobody can go against China in group tournament. Their team are so balanced and strong. Hard to win them. Nevertheless, Korea vs China should be an interesting one. Seeing yesterday's men's double where KKK/TBH managed to put up a good fight against CY/FHF, I guess Lee/Jung will get a point for Korea here.

Letz just wait and see wether Korea can triump China. =P

..i want to see if LYD & LHJ have the "Nerves of steel" or not, after their Olympics experience last yr..They are, essentially, being handed the whole responsibility of winning this cup..Right off the bat, they will be under tremendous pressure to win the XD event..

All i know is that, it is nearly the same lineup which was used in the 2007 SC. The only difference is they played the WS event before the MS, in 2007.

I'll say CHN should get the 2 points from singles. the other 3 doubles are fairly even with KOR with upper hand for MD and CHN with WD. XD will be a true 50/50. so, CHN needs a point from the 3 doubles that should be do-able.

Haha yes... China will take 2 singles... then for the doubles... it's 50-50... so the probability is they will take 1.5 games, so mathematically China should win 3-2... which is good, we can watch the final a little longer...

actually, if all of the doubles games China and Korea are 50/50, then mathematically, for China to win at least one match, is 1 - winning zero match.

the probably of China winning zero match is 0.5 * 0.5 * 0.5 = 0.125

1 - 0.125 = 0.875

so China has a probably of 0.875 to win at least one doubles match.

If it comes down to the last match tied at 2-2, I'd say all bets are off. CHN will be under as much pressure as KOR. And the KOR girls are no pansies either. If any pair can give Du/Yu a run for their money, it's these 2.

Could go both ways. I don't see the KOR pair melting if they get this far. They are quite experienced and have come up against partisan crowds before
