I am new to badminton, and I would like to find quality court shoes at a good price, and I need Men's Wide 2E court shoes for a discriminating beginner. I would like shoes that will last as I am a tennis player who used to go through the most expensive models as a youth in a matter of months. Badminton is played indoors on a kinder surface though I would like good support and a quality midsole, not EVA. What stores are there in Singapore and where are they off of the MRT? Thanks. :)

I have very wide feet and found Mizuno's to be good fit for me. They are available in most World of Sports outlets that is spread islandwide. A pair of wave-gate should fit your budget and will last a while (easily 1+ years depending on use). I've moved on to the wave-smash which is a little more expensive (~S$90) but is great.

I believe wide-feet friendly Yonex shoes are also available in Queensway. You may also look at Asics but I do not know much about them.

A lot of reviews has been done on each shoes so do a search in the forum.

2E are narrow shoes not wide. 4E are wide shoes. If you have wide feet then look at SHB91, SHB200 and SHB80.

Oh, you are so right! I am 4E! Geez, that does make a difference. I found the Wave Gate 3 Mizuno at World of Sports, and it was 3E and looked small to me because I was wearing 4E Nike shoes. Okay, does New Balance make badminton shoes?

They told me at World of Sports that none of the other Mizuno are wides and Wave Gate is 3E, and they only had the floor model. :crying:

That's weird... I use the wave-smash and am pretty sure it's wide. You might want to try those Mizuno specialist WoS. There is one at Paragon and another at VivoCity. The staff there are more knowledgeable that those at the generic WoS.

Which WOS outlet did you go to? You could actually ask the staff to check with other outlets on stock availability. Alternatively you could visit the Mizuno boutique at Vivocity (alight at Harbourfront MRT station). The Paragon outlet has closed down.

Mizuno 'wide' models come with this logo (ignore the Chinese characters) but they may not be wide enough for u:
