Well the title says it all, but some background information should help. In the past 1.5 years i've broken 4 rackets (at800df, x2 victor nano pro 7, and victor at ti-98: all 3U g5). I know this isn't much compared to some of you forumers but for a college student that's rather expensive. I've recently been using a 4U Arterytec ti-99 and i love the easy defence and great power but it's beyond my price range for another as a backup. So i'm looking for a light, stiff (similar to at900t stiffness), and even balance racket under $100. I know the choices will be limited but any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've tried the dragon before and i admit it's a very good racket, but it's a bit too flexible for my tastes. Are there any that are stiffer but just as light or lighter? Apac racket seem rather heavy (for me) according to dinkalot's chart. How about the furious 767?
No i haven't tried those low end rackets. I can't afford to buy them and everyone that plays at UC Davis uses high end Yonex which is far outside my price range.
na, joined the club but not good enough for line up =P. on topic: how does everyone feel about the SOTX woven 5 or woven 6? Dinkalot gave them very good reviews and the specs fit my bill but could i get some personal reviews?
on a similar strain, the Metallix 4000/ 8000 would probably fit the bill again. however, like before, it could be a bit to flexible for your liking.
The old Black Knight Rapier Be is 85 g, so just a little heavy for a 4U. But it is stiff and quite manouverable. You wouldn't feel ashamed with it in your hand among all your flashy Yonex friends. It is listed in several places at under $100US.
