I've seen amazing prices for Yonex rackets on ebay. Are these just genuine great prices or are they knock offs or something? I see rackets that cost $275 on ebay for $45. Is this legit?
if the price is too good to be true, then 110% of them are guaranteed to be fake. we have a whole thread dedicated to this: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13655
Kwun, How about a reputatable agent of sotx put CP5000 to auction and sold at around USD60.00 whereas this racket is selling officially at around USD 200 ??? I am scratching my head.
so a Yonex nanospeed 9000 type x selling for $45 is too good to be true. There was however plenty of good feedback fro mthe transaction but I'm still hesitant.
those type of fakes are usually sold in China for around US$15. you are giving the guy $30+ profit if you go ahead with it. we have seen hundreds of these cases before. buyer lured in with the temptation of getting a genuine racket for a killer 80% off price. every one of them came back finding out they ended up funding the fake racket trade. your next question is probably wondering whether it is anything like the original. the answer is a definite no. i have purchased a fake racket at the fair price of around US$15 from a street dealer before, and the material and construction is what one would expect from a $10 racket, very very poor and nothing like the real one.
Because Sotx CP series just introduce to US market. May be is part of the promotion. I remember few years ago when Sotx Woven-8 cost $130 sold on Ebay auction at $40 to $50. You can find them now at that price anymore.
if the seller is proven legit then it is ok. SOTX and other non-Yonex brands are different. the profit margin levels are completely off the chart. very often dealers and esp distributor will get 100%-150% profit margin on these rackets. Yonex racket are different, profit margin may only be in the 50% range.
