I have some extra money and I want to buy a new racket. Which should I buy? I am interested in an even balanced racket that looks really cool. As the title suggests, I am not interested in Yonex. The choices are: Mizuno Tetracross 700, RSL Millenium 8 Diamond X2 Blue, Victor Bravesword 09, and Carlton Vapour Trail Tour. I like the looks on these rackets (I value this most of all, a cool racket is of the necessity), particularly favoring the X2 blue. However, the Carlton has just come out and I also like the Bravesword. Which should I get? Any feedback on any of these rackets? Thanks!
If you want something really powerful and good for smash, TC700 is the undisputed choice ! However, it is not even balanced as mine with a replacement grip over the original grip has a BP of 290mm. I don't know about the Carlton as it is not available in Singapore but I have the TC700, RSL X2 Blue (sold) and the Victor BS08. The BS09 is less head heavier than the BS08 so it is even balanced. RSL X2 Blue is light (4U) and unless you have used a RSL X2 series before and have good technique, it isn't a easy racquet to generate good power. RSL racquet have different feel and to me, it is an "acquired" taste.
right on. its so stiff, i just refuse to even take a swing with it. i tried once, and i couldn't clear all the way to half court. why not try the HL- dragon? its a good racket.
HL Dragon... it's black and has a dragon on the shaft as well as small chinese words on the T.about $100
its a little flexible, and its even balance to slightly head heavy. its the max length, about 680mm, and the shaft is really long, and the handle pretty short compared to the ARC10. Its fast, and it can hit bombs if you get the timing/ power down.
If you are going for "looks" I think the X2 looks really nice (I have an X3 on order, so I can't compare with that yet .. Personally I still swear by Tetracross 700, which i think is the most powerful agile racket around... I have not tried the new Carlton :-( /Twobeer

I would suggest a search on TC700 or tetracross in the forum (there are lots of info).. It is much stiffer than AT700. balance is slightly head-heavy but much faster in defence than for example AT700. Overall it is superior to AT700 in both defence, control, power, durability imop. TC700 is the only racket that I know of that combines: a) real carbon nano tubes. not buckyballs that are cheaper and used by yonex etc. (arc models also have more advanced cup-shaped nano-carb...) b) Tetra-axial woven graphite (se http://www.meidai.co.jp/tetras_eng01.htm , I think meidai is the company that supplys Mizuno with the tetra-axial woven technology for thier golf & badminton equipment. They also supply to AXIV golf shafts see for example http://www.victorycustomgolf.com/products/127/shafts/accra-axiv-xe-80.aspx ... interesting quote "AXIV Tetra-Axial creates a "Rapid shaft Recovery System" resisting deformation and return to round faster than any other shaft on the market." ) ... http://www.meidai.co.jp/tetras_eng02.htm c) TC700 uses a Semi ISO/oval head, similar to what carlton now tries to market this as "optimetric", Forza as "Controlled Forze head (CF)" etc.. Overall. this racket is a beast.. And I am puzzled other manufactureras are not jumping on tetra-axial woven as it seem to be the key factor in making this racket into such a powerful beast.. Maybe it is to costly for their revenue margins? Maybe same reasen they use buckyballs/fullerene instead of using real CNT carbon ?!?! /T
Twobeer is the authority when it comes to the TC700 ! To me, TC700 is definitely a more complete racquet than the AT700, it is better for offense and defense, however I feel that it is also more difficult to use because : 1) Stiffer than the AT700 2) Not as head heavy. My AT700 Limited with grip has a BP of 305mm whereas the TC700 is 290mm. 3) Semi ISO/oval head. However, if you can tame this beast, it is very rewarding.
e78 never answer my mail Currently wait for next 2 pc TC700, too bad i can get 2U version....You have poisoning me badly, master TC700 is great but @kirbo ask for balanced and i think Victor BS09 may suit this criteria.
Yeah I"m beginning to lead towards to BS09 because I have already used the Armortec 900 power before, so i"m not too interested in a head heavy racket. I'm just wondering how powerful the BS is, as compared to my Arcsaber 7 at least.
looks nice Art, but I"m not sure, since I heard that APACS rackets feel hollow. I don't like hollow feeling O.O
