I know 1/2 reserve national players in their early twenties

who plan to go overseas to study and coach/spar at the same time

on a short stint like Tony Gunawan.

Anybody interested in hiring these ex-players? Pls drop me a line.

well I'd be interested in hiring them, but im just a single person. however, im sure i could gather up some friends to pay that ex-player so we could have him/her coach us frequently.

Thks fr replying Iwan bt I think it is nt feasible fr a coach

to freelance overseas, getting a wrk permit would also be a nightmare.

I thk it would be feasible only fr them to be first attached to a club or college or

sth and wkg fr a salaty first before free-lancing.

in the US, there is a category for immigrants with 'special talents'. meaning, if they have achieve something extraordinary.

i am not surprised if TonyG is using that category for extra long stay in the US. an Olympic gold medals probably would count as extraordinary. :)

I was thinking mebbe they could work on a 1/2 year contract

like say Park Joo Bong and return home when contract is over.

The advantage being they are still young and can spar and train too.

Of course they would only be eligible fr nt so dynamic teams as they have

not accomplished same results as say the bigger names.

That sounds like a great idea.

Say if they went to US to college in California, then study and work part time as a training partner in OCBC. (Only one example). UK might be another interesting place except no University in Milton Keynes. How about Wales or Scotland?

In fact, a better idea than finding established names who seem to have problems with the National Badminton Organisations of their original countries.

Bbn, international students in australia can work part time. also, there might be one or two schools here in perth that can use his/her coaching...

i used to study in a private school named wesley college, and this school is a part of a group of 8 schools. they have sport events against each other every week of the school except during holidays. badminton is one of the sport.

each year there is four terms and badminton takes up two of the terms that is starting from may through till mid-september. i know that two of the schools have proper coaches, but i dont think the others have a decent coach cause wesley has been winning the badminton tournaments 4 times in a row :p and the only one that put up a decent fight is Christ Church.

Each of the school that participates in the badminton event, only 6 of them if im not mistaken, maybe 7, have at least 14 people playing badminton some extends to 30s, they train at least twice a week for about one and a half hour. Ofcourse, other than coaching in schools, your friend can participate in tournaments and win some cash prize :D or rackets to re-sell :D

Thks Iwan, I'll think about it.

The other catch is that these people are not U material,

maybe the most they can do is train fr a cert in Hair Dressing or sth.

That's the price fr playing too much badminton in Msia.
