Well, in NY, everything might cost a fortune. If you think the private lesson is a bit too much for you, you might consider the group lesson instead...

If I am not mistaken, I think u r talking about Lost Battlion. No doubt, this club might be the cheapest u can find in NYC metro area, but i heard some bad things about it, such as how ppl have to "fight" for court time.

Hopefully they are improved by now.

Hi Robina, and all badminton enthusiasts.. my husband and I are having the same problems you guys initially had, looking for court and play time, we live all the way in the CT and its too far commute and expensive too ,to play in NY. We found a club which plays in fairfield but were looking for more days instead of just 2 days/ week..Robina, I was wondering if you can give me some info about the Yonkers club that you found, fees, schedule and address, would really appreciate it. Thanks

From CT??? Wow... this is dedication!

Looking forward to meet you, and the gym is on the 1st floor. There should be plenty of parking space as well.

Hey, sorry that I took so long to respond, been really busy and I usually don't post in this thread. I post in another thread that I started, it's called "Interested In Starting A Club...." So do check that as well. As for the place I used to go to, well all the players there were guys. I was the only girl. They were really good players and all but I don't know, it just wasn't fun enough for me. So I stopped going there. If you read the other thread, I have posted some info there about attempting to find places in westchester, preferrably in Yonkers. If you can help and make phone calls etc to gyms, schools etc in westchester area that would be great. White plains, valhalla, hastings, dobbs ferry aren't that far from Yonkers. So those places would be fine too. I know, that ymca or was it ywca, is asking for like $150/hr. If we have enough ppl, $150 is nothing really! Email me if you would like at robina1981@yahoo.com. Look forward to hearing from ya!

$150 per hr??? How big is the gym? To me, unless u can set up at least 10-12 courts there, it would be very expensive. However, 10 courts means u need at least 60-80+ members to get the club running smoothly.

well, lets see, I have no idea how big the gym is or anything, someone told me about it. You are right, we would need a lot of people to run it smoothly. That is why I've been posting here, emailing people etc. I will keep looking. I am sure we will find something even if it takes a while. It's hard with full time work and Grad. school you know! I wish the City was close to me. I am in the city every Tuesday for school but my classes are in the evening so its not like I can play ...ah, I am just being a cry baby ...so if anyone is in Westchester, NY and is looking for a place to play let me know!!!!

    I AM TRYING!!!
