. 2009 Indonesia Open - 17 June - Day 2 (Rounds of 32) Greetings, Today is Day 2 of the 2009 Indonesia Open. It's great to find Tony Gunawan/Howard Bach arriving at Day 2 (MAIN DRAW). Almost all (if not ALL) INA players will be facing tough opponents. Worst case, more than half of the squad will be eliminated tomorrow. But let's get rid of that from mind. Always have to be optimistic. Best of luck for all INA players!
There is a possibility that all INA's WS can be wiped out on Wednesday ..... I hope not, but the possibility is there....
Full schedule for today. XD R32 Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir [1] vs Wang Chia-Min/Wang Pei Rong -- no question, Nova/Butet should breeze through. Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari/Wong Pei Tty vs Hendra A. Gunawan/Vita Marissa -- very tight at the moment and evenly matched. It's good enough if AG/Vita can progress to the next round in their first time being paired together. Thomas Laybourn/Kamilla Rytter-Juhl [4] vs Devin Lahardi/Lita Nurlita -- first round exit for Devin/Lita. Ruud Bosch/Paulien Van Dooremalen vs Fran Kurniawan/Pia Bernadet Zebadiah -- I am quietly confident that Fran/Pia will progress. Ko Sung Hyun/Ha Jung Eun vs Mohd Rijal/Debby Susanto -- the KOR pair has the edge. WS R32 -- I predict that most (if not all) INA players will be eliminated. MS R32 Simon Santoso [8] vs Jan O Jorgensen -- on paper, Simon should have an edge, but, his performance in the Singapore SS last week was disastrous. It's likely another first-round exit beckons. Lin Dan [3] vs Andre Kurniawan Tedjono -- learning experience for Andre from the maestro. Anand Pawar vs Sony Dwi Kuncoro [4] -- Sony should win. Andrew Smith vs Taufik Hidayat [5] -- ditto for Taufik.
may be bcoz it's stil morning (in Indonesia n neighborhood countries)....... people are still malay2an lah......
WD R32 Anneke Feinya Agustine/Annisa Wahyuni vs Ng Hui Lin/Woon Khe Wei -- MAS to take this one. Learning experience for Anneke/Annisa in their first SS tourney. Jenny Wallwork/Gabrielle White vs Nadya Melati/Nathalia Poluakan -- Nadya/Nathalia to win. Petya Nedeltcheva/Anastasia Russkih vs Meiliana Jauhari/Shendy Puspa Irawati [8] -- a tricky match for Mel/Shendy and I hope they take it and progress to at least QF. Komala Dewi/Keshya Nurvita Hanadia vs Ha Jung Eun/Kim Min Jung [4] -- the KOR pair to win for sure. Imogen Bankier/Donna Kellogg vs Rani Mundiasti/Jo Novita -- a tight match expected and I hope the ex-Pelatnas pair wins this one. Pia Bernadet Zebadiah/Debby Susanto vs Nitya Krishinda Maheswari/Greysia Polii -- Kristin (the nickname for Nitya)/Grace to extend their good form!
MD R32 Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan [1] vs Michael Fuchs/Ingo Kindervater -- yet another encounter with the GER pair and I hope this time it will be won in straight-sets Hendri Kurniawan Saputra/Hendra Wijaya vs Wifqi Windarto/Afiat Yuris Wirawan -- this is the 3rd time these 2 pairs meet. The current-score is split at 1-1. Expect a tight battle and the SIN pair holds a slight edge. Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah [8] vs Hendra Aprida Gunawan/Alvent Yulianto Chandra -- a tough draw for AG/Alvent. Luluk Hadiyanto/Joko Riyadi vs Chen Hung-Ling/Lin Yu-Lang -- the TPE pair has improved significantly and I am sure they will perform again today. Nathan Robertson/Anthony Clark vs Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan [7] -- despite being seeded, I don't think Bona/Ahsan can beat the in-form Robertson/Clark, fresh from their SIN SS triumph last week. Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki vs Kristof Hopp/Johannes Schoettler -- a manageable tie for Rian/Yoke and I hope they fully make use of the opportunity to reach R16 again. Fernando Kurniawan/Lingga Lie vs Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun [5] -- no question, Fu/Cai to take this one and they have an easy draw all the way till SF. Ruud Bosch/Koen Ridder vs Anggun Nugroho/Rendra Wijaya -- Anggun/Rendra have a good chance to progress to R16.
Vita always has good records when she is pairing up with a new partner. hope they can maximize their chances here...... i hope DevLit prove us wrong...... i expect some upset from our experienced WS players here........ another points deduction for Simon???? :crying:
waw.... zhou mi is having trouble facing a qualifier??? guess xxf has emptied her stamina back at ASOSS final.......
Okay, I will try to be very objective for my prediction of INA's WS. WS R32 Xie Xingfang [8] vs Maria Kristin Yulianti -- I don't think Maria has ever beaten Xie before? Plus, she has not really fully recovered, so, it's hard to expect her to beat Xie. Rachel Van Cutsen vs Rizky Amelia Pradipta -- if any INA player is to win, then, the new Pelatnas player probably has the best luck in terms of drawing the NED player. However, she might be inexperienced enough to beat Rachel. Adriyanti Firdasari vs Yao Jie -- expect a long 3-sets match with Firda losing at the end. Pi Hongyan [5] vs Maria Febe Kusumastuti -- luckily for Febe, Pi hasn't been in good form lately. With the help of the crowd, the Djarum player could upset Pi. However, I will still go for Pi to win the match. Maria Elfira Christina vs Wang Chen [4] -- another seeded player to face and I think Fira will also succumb after a good fight.
why i smell upset here??? dont you know that Mel/Shendy were withdrawn??? Shendy just came out from hospital on saturday. she cant compete while recovering from her desease.
