I think it might be footwork problem, but over the past couple of months, my right heel has been hurting. I think it's when i'm in the backcourt and moving from left to right and landing on my right heel to return a drive down the line from opponents. are there long term effects on this? i don't notice it on the court because most movements are using the front feet/toes; but after the game when i walk i notice the soreness.
just normal tennis shoes... is that a problem too? btw, question about footwork: if im in the back court moving from left to right doing the crosscourt shuffle, when i get to the right side, my right foot should land on its toes/front foot or the heel?
what are you doing?? go get yourself a proper badminton shoe! should land on heel. but not that hard landing.
+ use silicone insoles available now as heel pads. These are rubbery and u place them in the shoes under the soles and they help absorb shock.
1. Please go and buy a proper badminton shoe as soon as possible. You should spend as much as you can on your shoe; do not settle for second best. Look for proper fitting and comfort (cushioning in both fore and rear foot) above everything else. 2. Please learn proper footwork. 3. Please land on your heel and let your foot roll onto the toe. Landing on your toes/front foot first will have a very high tendency to make you roll your ankle and/or cause severe injury to your knees. I am cringing as I type this as I am recollecting my previous incident of spraining my ankle during basketball ... not a pleasant memory. Justin
One question: Is it more painful after a period of rest? For instance, does it hurt more on waking up in the morning?
sounds familiarly like plantar fasciitis, though it could be like me, a combination of that and achilles tendinitis
