Hi i am new to this forum and have just taken up the sport of badminton.I have just bought a racquet reduced from £80 to £25 however the strings move a bit during a spell of play. Is that normal? i.e i have to readjust them with my fingers to keep them str8 . Are they maybe need tightened?

I have played quite a bit of badminton but never been into it enough so do not know anything about strings tension etc.

    many thanks

The tension of the strings are probably low. I assume they are the factory strings, which are normally strung 22Lbs and under. You may need to get it restrung.

If it's not affecting your play in any considerable way i wouldn't bother getting it restrung.

Don't worry, the strings are fine. Factory strings are like that, they move and very loose. Once they break, you can go string the racquet with the kind of string you like. Meanwhile, have fun with your new racquet!:D:D

Even if you restring at a higher tension if you hit hard the strings will still move! Don't expect them not to at higher tensions
