wow she has really gone a long way since i saw her play (in video) in the Malaysia Open Grand Prix, at that time also beating Wang Xin in the final in 3 sets. also saw her play live in the Philippine Open, losing to Wang Xin in straight sets during the semifinals. i like that she's fierce on court and so sweet in this picture during the awarding ceremony. very cute!

She seemed a little fatigued in the HKSS final against Saina Nehwal. In the end her opponent executed better and deserved to win. Ah well, I guess you can't win it all.

her shot is very deep....netting and footwork is really good...her stamina costs her and Saina knows where she is going to hit the shuttles and saina is ready for it

That, and the draft. It affected her game style more than SN's fast play. She was not able to move SN as her shots kept drifting long. I also sense that she seems to be very tired since China Open allowing too many unforced errors to creep into her game. In retrospect, SN managed to close 2 victories in consecutive weeks, SO then IO.
Overall, SN played to her strength and WSX could not turn the game to her advantage. Draft or stamina, SN played an excellent and very intelligent match and was never caught off position in the same situation more than once. She read WSX very well during the game and left WSX reacting to her shots. WSX need to work smarter
.
I like that the reprisal of the tactical game in WS.

During the WX and SN games, not sure if she stood too close to the net or because of her stamina, when her opponents hit the ball very deep, she could not move back fast enough and end up hitting a drop shot 90% of the time. I think both WX and SN noticed that also.

All considered, WSX's loss was quite acceptable. She just played too many matches since the Asian Games and ran out of steam.
WSX does not yet have the kill in her game. Her game is predicate on precision. Precision is hard to maintain when one is very tired. The draft in the stadium at HK Open made it even worse.
Other than the obvious of enhancing her endurance, WSX should develop more stings in her game to close out some points early. Otherwise, even if she grinds her way into the final, she may not have enough in the tank to close the deal. Already, this was clearly the case in HK Open, China Open and the Chinese National Games last year.
