i would lik to say his stroke is not perfectly correct. you should be hitting the shuttle right above you and not by ur side which is wat he is doin in the video

Not everyones technique or style is 100% correct.

But he is a fantastic athlete grabbing the silver medal at the commonwealth games in 2006? hmm i dont really remember which year it was. But he lost to Lee Chong Wei.

So i would trust that he is giving across the correct idea.

Yea I wouldnt criticise his technique, he is/was a great player, English national champion 2 or 3 times? And now doing some coaching I think. Here is a pretty good video of him playing in his prime http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eQRVckUH14

.....Very effective.....It can make the diffrence if you implement in the game........The whole video is even more informative......Nice Work

Oh I see, I was under the impression that the beard was there for cushioning of the head. esp when looking up (clears) and down (retrieving smashes/dropshots), as the pros who with no doubt train a lot, this cushioning may be pretty useful.!!
