Merdeka Open Tournament

Dear all nominated badminton players at Klang Valley.

We are planning to have an Open tournament in Arena Badminton Sentral, Kajang for Merdeka celebration. Just wanna grab a few comment from you guys on the date cos it would be on Puasa month.

fasting month, that is the tricky one.
the muslims shall start fasting 20th August 2009. as for the tournament, it can be held before that. August is consider our Merdaka Month.

Date : to be announced next week

Ex national and state players not eligible to participate

Team : 3 pairs per team (7 person)

Fees : RM 150 per team

Prizes : 700 or 900 for champion. Runners up will be decided in the full details next week....

Team event? WHy not make it like Thomas CUp? Have singles and doubles in it

i do believe it is a trial tournament whereas they can promote the court and get the idea of how many will join. looking for doubles is easier that singles. 3 pairs = 6 players + 1 reserve.
how many of us able to come out with Sudirman Cup or Thomas/Uber Cup team format participants?

We've come to a decision that the date will be on the 7th - 9th August 2009

Team event, Robin round,

Prizes will be : Champion RM 1000
1st runner up RM 500
2nd runner up RM 250
3rd runner up RM 100

Tournament fees will be RM 100 per team

3 pairs (7 pax) per team.

yeap! playing on friday, the timing is very important as most working group will not be able to join the tourney.......

Friday till starts at 7.30 pm
Saturday will starts at 7.00 pm
and Sunday will starts at 11.30 am
