How do you respond to a serve? If you were playing singles and get a high serve? Low serve? Doubles and get a high serve? Doubles and Low serve? Would you drop, clear, rush, drive, smash?

The answer is dependent on how they do the serve is done. Is it a good, service, bad serve? Can the player anticipate the serve?

This may not be the best advice, but anyway...

Doubles / Low Serve : I tend to play pushes and drives more than net shots, as I'm more of a back-court player and don't want to get drawn forward. If it's a bad serve then I'll still try and put it away with a smash though. Obviously lifting is never the best plan.

Doubles / High Serve : Smash - generally either down the line or right back at the server.

In singles, I'll usually either play a clear or a drop shot cunningly disguised as one. I kinda suck at singles though.

There is no correct answer to this question. As long as the shot you do is a gud shot and you mix things up a bit but in general with doubles, get on the attack wit return of serve.

Too many questions in one thread. It would be better to pose the questions seperately.

BTW, you can do a search on service returns.
