I saw Hu Yun play against Jan Jorgesen in the Denmark open and I was frankly disappointed in his play. He lost very tamely because he seemed to have no urgency in his movements. No fire and no interest whereas the Danish player was all over him. He may be talented but on that day he looked very ordinary. I felt he should have accounted for himself better.

I like his aggresive style... Yes, resembles Taufik. Long lost twins? lol.

Good run by Hu Yun reaching the final of Japan Open 2014 beating Chen Long and Jan O. Jorgensen on his way. He seems to have new fighting spirit and also looks very fast and in sharp form. I really hope he can give LCW a good fight or even win, given his form.

@Mods Since this is catching onto as a player's thread, can it be moved into the Players section?

Hu Yun had been sponsored by Babolat for a long time and used Babolat Satellite 6.5 Power. Since when is he sponsored by Yonex and which racket does he use now? Thanks!

He has been using Nanoray 750 (Yonex) for quite some time now.

I can't believe he beat Chen Long now that's really impressive. Anybody have a video of the game? I would love to watch to it!

Wonderful backhand on this guy. He seems to be smart too. On opponents that he feels are stronger than him, he uses the first set to wear them down
