I feel too the F1 series lacks the protection although they are light. The SHB-86/65FT is more suitable for me. I don't mind sacrificing a bit of slightly more weight/bulk for the protection.

At 1st was the old hamstring injury followed by shoulder pain, fake ankle injury & now the latest one was the knee injury. Almost 100% mirror his injury besides his image. Got to use spray & Medi Pak hot or cold pack to relief the pain.

F1MX (Metallic Blue) = light & shiny but lack of cushioning. Not suitable for poor or old rubber court

SHB 86EX (Shine Orange) = Shiny, got cushioning & a bit bulky

I agree that F1 series lack of cushioning, but (IMHO) not in the terms of supports and protection.

In this matter, I applied yonex wave insole AC-191 (a bit thicker) at my SHB-F1, and replaced the original insole. As the result thereof, the cushioning seems to be felt quite better. But I personally consider still unadequate for my foot.
