Well I saw highlights on TV and in match Taufok vs Shon
the shuttle was well in at crucial stage. You need to be short-sighted
to call it out.
Of course taufik over-reacted, the Msian team for eg.have long built in
bad calls in their game and to make due allowance.
In other countries they do things like switching off stadium lights at crucial stages
or creating lengthy distractions.
Kwun was right Li Mao is Shon's personal coach.
What I saw in highlights was that Shon and Lee played like they were possessed.

Asiad Men's Singles latest :
Hafiz bts Chen Hong over 3 sets.
Therefore Quarter Finals :
Hafiz-Taufik,
Wong Choon Han-Lee HI
Xia Xuan Ze-Hendrawan
Gopi-Shon
Let's see if Xia can at last break the jinx and finally bt his bogeyman b4 he retires.
I think the player in form is Taufik.

Li Mao once said that Shon had the most potential among the young Korean MS players, even more than Lee HI who has been posting the best international results. Li did such a good job in Korea that their BA was virtually begging him to return after his contract ended. And he did.
Anyway, I was quite sad that Lee HI didn't come to the Sing Open.

QF-
Xia loses again to his nemesis Hendrawan over 3 sets.At end of 2nd and 3rd
set, Xia looked like he had just completed the marathon.
There is a flaw/limitation in Xia's game that is always exploited by other marathon
runners like Hendrawan, Roslin or Ong Ewe Hock.Looks like Xia will have to wait
until these players walk in crutches before he can beat them.
Match up : Lee Hyun Il vs Hendrawan and Taufik vs Shon/Gopi tomorrow.

It's gonna be INA vs KOR for both semis tomorrow, and alas, taufik vs shon in a rematch of the men's team final.
Either Lee Hyun Il has really improved a lot or something's wrong with Wong Choong Hann at this Games. Maybe it's just the Korean crowd. Wong was leading 9-4 in the 2nd after winning the first, yet he gave it away to Lee 15-9. In the decider, Wong trailed 0-11 before scoring 6 points and handing the match to Lee.
Didn't expect Hendrawan to beat Xia by such a drastic score in the decider. GO HENDRAWAN!! But it's Lee he'll be up against. All the best of luck.

Lee Dong Soo/Yoo Yong Sung bt Khunakorn/Patapol 15-4 15-9
Chan Chong Ming/Chew Choon Eng bt Candra/Sigit 8-15 17-14 15-5
Pramote Teerawiwatana/Tesana Panvisvas bt Liu Yong/Chen Qiqiu 15-6 9-15 11-15
Halim Haryanto/Tri Kusharyanto bt Kim Dong Moon 15-7 8-15 15-8
Semifinal: Lee/Yoo vs Chan/Chew
Teerawiwatana/Panvisvas vs Haryanto/Kusharyanto
Quite a surprising result. Didn't expect Kim/Ha and Candra/Sigit to lose.
Finally Chan/Chew are able to overcome Candra/Sigit. ALL THE WAY!!!

In women's Singles SF action:
Zhou Mi (CHN) beat Wang Chen (HK) 11-1, 11-4.
Gong Ruina (CHN) beat Kim Kyeung Ran 11-3, 11-3.
Another all Chinese affair in Finals!!
In women's doubles QF action:
Yan Wei/ Huang Nan Yan (CHN) beat Shizuka/ Seiko (JPN) 11-5, 11-8.
Ra Kyung Min/Lee Kyung Won (KOR) beat Saralee/Sathinee (THAI) 11-7, 11-3.
Lee Hyo Jung/Hwang Yu Mi (KOR) beat Ermawati/Marissa (INA) 11-3, 4-11, 11-6.
Gao Ling/Huang Sui (CHN) beat Cheng Wen Hsing/Chien Yu Ching (TPE) 11-5,11-6.
It will be Korea vs China, Korea vs China just like the women's team finals!
In regards to the men singles, I wonder what would have happened if Bao Chun Lai was sent into the singles competition??? He would be able to make it to semis at least.
GL China.

Final- It's Lee Hyun Il to play Taufik. If anyone has the skill to beat the in-form
Taufik it must be the in form Lee.

Mixed doubles gold was won by Kim Dong Moon/Ra Kyung Min as predicted. Women's doubles final will be anther Ra Kyung Min/Lee Kyung Won vs Gao Lin/Huang Sui matchup. This one should be very close: 40-60 would be my guess.
In men's doubles, surprising Pramote/Tesana got through Heryanto/Harjanto with relative "ease". I pick them over Lee/Yoo in finals. Hands down on Taufik in MS finals.

Wah kao! You mean Candra/Sigit and Kim/Ha - the two invincible pairings actually LOST? I'm devastated honestly. But all the best to Lee and Yoo in the finals... haven't figured out how to say this in Korean yet. For the MS, I'm *still* rooting for Taufik.

I disagree. Lee/Yoo beat Halim/Trikus with relative in the IND Open semi finals in IND HOME GROUND!!.... 15-4, 15-9. They went on to win the IND Open beating Flandi/Eng.Originally posted by Hugo

Lee/Yoo are not bad..... they're definately fav. to win though I prefer Halim/Trikus to win instead.

Lee/Yoo are a decent pairing and yes on paper, they look destined to win. They advanced further than the Thais in each of the past several major tourneys but I still pick Pramote/Tesana, maybe because I want to see the underdogs win!Originally posted by modious

The Thais just have to find a way to neutralize Lee and Yoo's yelling and screaming.
