Badminton Canada mourns the passing of Avish Makol
    July 17, 2009

On behalf of Badminton Canada, Peter Golding, President of Badminton Canada would like to express his dearest sympathy to the family of Avish Makol.

The life of Avish Makol was tragically cut short at the age of 19 in a motorcycle crash. Avish was a successful and passionate junior player that trained out of the Glencoe Club in Alberta prior to his moving to India. The young athlete passed away recently while riding his motorcycle in India.

Avish has a large circle of badminton friends coast to coast. Avish Makol was a fine player but also a very fine person. He was voted the Male Under-19 athlete of the year in 2008, prior to returning to his home in India.
