I have noticed this before and thought it was a fluke. It is getting noticeably annoying now. I searched for any requests/discussions on this topic but didn't find any.

For some reason, the threads in the some of the forums (I noticed especially in Buy&Sell) are sorted by created date rather than last post date.

What happens is even if there is activity in the thread, it never gets bumped up to the top of the stack. I responded to a thread on 7/17 (in Buy&Sell) which is sitting on the 5th page. Whereas threads updated before 7/17 are sitting on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th pages because they were started after mine was.

Is this intentional? Or is this a vBB default which we have never changed.

Shouldn't hot topics move up the ladder?

Thanks ctjcad, I did read that. I am just wondering if there is any way that I could save my default sorting option. I guess there is no user defined sorting option.

There is no sorting option in my 'Edit Options'. May be I don't have the same credential as you!

^^No special special credential for me..^^

..have you read the link in the 2nd post above??..
If not mistaken, the admin. decided to change/use the current setting for the Buy & Sell section. I also don't see any sorting option for the other sub-forums; heck, i don't even use it..:p

Sorry I never visited this thread after I asked the question.

ctjcad, thank you for answering and pointing me to that thread. It makes sense, they had to find a way to deal with the bumping. I don't agree with this sorting but I'll play along. Probably the best way to deal with this issue is to subscribe to your FS/WTB/looking thread and visit it from your subscribed list.
