hi (1st thread), i have been reading many threads and searching through them, for my answer but i'm not sure i've found it. I also don't want to hijack a thread and ask for advice there or anything, since that is considered rude in some forums.

well, i consider myself to be a beginner at badminton.
when vsing my friends the other day we noticed that i'm heavily reliant on my backhands. which is about the level of this youtube video (3 seconds), sometimes hit steeper/faster than that one:

and i consider my backhands to be alright. but i have a really weak forehand, and my defense is crap on that side... my other friends have very strong forehands and weaker backhands.

i can generally (i think) counter their smashes with my backhand, but as soon as it reaches my forehand side, i'm doomed. My reaction time is very slow, and when i do hit it, it's innaccurate. Is there a way to strengthen low forehand shots? and counter smashes effectively?

    i'm 15 years old
    female
    173cm tall
    and i weigh 58kg

I hope i've specified most of the things needed. if not, feel free to ask questions.

it is common for people that has weak defense on the forehand side. It's not only you. For me: most of the area that my opponent smash i'll use backhand to return, because I can use my thumb to lift it up (thumb help on controlling) And If they smash around my waist area and down on my forehand side, i'll still use my backhand to return the shots.
Last, the only way that I'll use forehand to return is, waist line (away from me about 3 feet) and anything around chest height and up i'll use my forehand to return it. Bending down alittle will help you able to control the shots.
