The week to settle played a big part in it, I guess - in my experience the Zm67 had one of the worst tension retensions I've ever experienced, but I played it freshly strung. If you never get to play it in the first week maybe its not so bad

Who can resist not playing a with recently strung racket for a week, especially if you string it yourself. I've hit the courts 10 minutes after unmounting a racket, but that was only because I was desperate.

Yeah Eric did a great job. Probably patented techniques :P Try getting one strung and leaving it for the equivalent amount of time it takes for a package from him to arrive (a few days I guess?).

Did anybody noticed a different diameter of different color Zymax strings? I have some packs of yellow 62 which look like the diameter of the red 67. I'm confused.

Likely optical illusion... brighter colour looks thicker. Only way to compare properly is to put both under the microscope.

Just got my two Panda Powers restrung with ZM65 in white, never used white for 65 before, apparently it's the 'best'.

Then again, white is almost always the best for strings anyways?

As per Steve's suggestion, I put the strings to the test under a digital micrometer. I have to say, I am devastated with the results.

I had two reels of Zymax 62 Red and Yellow. Both showed a reading of 68 microns...?????? Tested my reel of Yonex BG66 Ultimax and Nanogy 98, both showed reading of 66 and 67 microns respectively....which is pretty damn close to the specification.

Would hate to see what readings the Zymax 65 would have....

Got my Zymax 62's from MyBadmintonStore, thus could safely assume that they are genuine strings....

The problem is that there isn't any industry standard for what the indicated string gauge is. Some mean the thickness after stringing. Others like you ex refer to the thickness before stringing.

I think the 1st gen zm62 was truly 0.62mm *strung*. Currently gen zm62 is more like 0.65mm strung, very similar to bg66um strung.

And zm65 strung is like bg85 strung, ie. 0.67mm

No, really? You need to get your eyes checked.

Both yellow colour on black background. Seems to be damn pretty close in diameter. I had previous Zymax 62 which was significantly thinner.

Good photo. But I can easily see that one is around 10% thinner than the other.

But yes, 1st gen zm62 is thinner than current gen.

You can measure using pixels that Zm62 is much smaller
I suppose it's easy for me to say because thinner strings are very apparently thin to stringers, but also feeling the string bed with those strings is much different, guaranteed!
Playability changes within 2 tenths of a millimeter, but size difference becomes apparent to the touch within .4mm usually

Been using yellow ZM65 strung 26/28 lbs on TK9ooo 4ug5.

Is there any diff in terms of repulsion, feel n durability between the yellow n other colours like white, black n red...?

From my short experience with ZM65, I found white more crispy in hitting than red, but red was more durable than white.
