Should have been more clear: the tightness of the string tension only. ZM62 is crisp, precise and has among the best feel of any string this Panda has tried.

3 sets of Zymax 62 at 27lbs lasted me for about a month with only one set breaking.

I'm never sure how long strings last me, I switch between 4 rackets (as in, I just randomly grab one every training), bg66@28 broke after roughly 10-12hours of play, and I break a set of bg80@28 roughly every 1-2 weeks, I'm too busy with badminton to actually keep track of that stuff

the good part about the ZM62 and ZM65 is that i can get very good power from it without having to stress the racket frame any higher. and to be honest, i am not that powerful.

ZM62 has superior feel, touch, control, excellent power.
ZM65 has awesome power, sound, but lacking a bit in feel and control in comparison. and better longevity.

ZM65 was Panda's suggestion to Ashaway. Panda tested it, didn't feel it was as good as ZM62 and the durability was only marginally better so as of right now, Ashaway has no further plans to produce it.

The key is to get ZM67 and ZM70 to feel more like ZM62...

...Panda and Ash are working on that.

Is BG65 comparable to ZM70 in that I can assume they would be of the same MRL?

I had ZM62 and ZM67 strung at 24lbs on two AT900P using a Yonex ES5Protech machine and find the ZM67 more powerful than the ZM62.

True, but when you stretch the thin string to near its limits (as they are doing with ZM62 at 27-28lbs.), there's minimal rebound/flex/repulsion.

With ZM70 there more "give" even at 33lbs.

Anyway, those are Panda's informal findings. Strung up 5 comparable rackets at 27lbs. with ZM62 and another 5 comparable rackets with ZM70 at 30lbs. All five ZM70 rackets hit harder. Not only did Panda feel the ZM70 rackets hit harder, more telling, three different people returning the smashes agreed the ZM70 strung rackets consistently hit harder while the ZM62 rackets sounded great but there was not as much power/velocity.

Now if Panda were to strung the same rackets with ZM62 at 25lbs., it might be a different story...might be a test to try one day...

Depends. You get the most power from a string when you find its maximum repulsion limit (MRL), where the string generates the most trampoline effect, usually consistently, not just for 10 shots.
If you go beyond the max repulsion limit, the string will feel dead.

Each person's max repulsion limit is different and may change from racket to racket.

For instance (and a good guideline), using an AT900T with BG65:

A beginner's MRL is 22lbs.
An intermediate player's MRL is 25lbs.
An advanced player's MRL is 28lbs.
A professional player's MRL is 31bs.

A player may string a bit higher to get a more stiff feeling string bed or a bit lower to get a softer feel; that's personal preference.

Why does the MRL increase? Because each level is more advanced than the next and we're assuming the higher the level, the harder the player can hit, thus being able to generate more power which allows the string bed to me optimally flexed at a higher tension.

if you read thru Dink's explanantion carefully, you'll see that it's because you haven't reached the MRL of the zm62@24lbs, whereas the MRL of zm67 at the same tension is lower and more within your reach

The ZM 67 is quite nice at 31 X 33. Has anyone took it to 33 X 35 without breaking in a couple of hits?

Update - my 27 lb "Z65" is still thundering along very happily, and IMO Ash should definitely start producing it. Holds tension wonderfully and still hits H-bombs after four weeks.

After a brief foray into 32+ Z70, I've inevitably reneged and sunk back into the seductive embrace of Z62. 200 m coming this week (and a mk. 2 proto - *hopes it'll be "evil silver").
