If you don't mishit, ZM62 can last quite a while.

Well kwun, since you have to restring your wife's racket at least you have something to give her for Valentine's Day.

Very thin strings will break easily, much more so than thicker strings, from even a small miss hit. This is particularly relevant in colder climates. If you miss hit, even occasionally, then very thin strings are not for you.

I can attest to this, I string at 23X25lbs. I usually only break it once every 6 weeks, playing about 7 hours a week. I rarely mis-hit on the string bed, when I mis-hit it goes off the top of the frame... Not really sure how everyone breaks strings so often! I think playing at excessively high tensions maybe the cause!

Zymax 62 is the best performing string I have found though, for power and control. I love the really stiff feel of the stringbed, really feels like you're connecting with the shuttle as you make a shot and you can put it anywhere.

    nice.

a friend of mine, who shall remain unnamed since, for shame, he only strings tennis racket, got a pack of badminton sized teflon tubing with his new stringing machine. without any use he gave them all to me. i am going to try them to see if they would serve the same purpose.

So I took my SW35 to the stringers today.

We were having a conversation about strings and I was going to try BG65@28lbs. But then I remembered about Zymax strings. I asked if he had any, and to my suprise he had ZM62 & ZM67.

At first I was hesitant over stringing with ZM62. So I was just going to go ahead with BG65@28lbs or BG80@27lbs. But, I decided "what the heck" so I went for ZM62@24lbs, I was hesitant over stringing any higher as I haven't got much experience with this string, and as it is very thin, I wasn't sure how long it would last. (I am hoping 1-2 months ) on the otherhand I haven't strung "this low" for about a year now (I have been using 26lbs for a while) so I am interested to see what happens.

It was expensive if this breaks quick but I really like it, I might have to invest in a cheap stringing machine

It's only about $5 a pack. I can play with 26lbs tension and would last about 1 month of 3x3hr per week sessions.

I can get it for about 4.10 a pack, but I paid almost double that today, as I needed my racket for a league match this week. (that I forgot about ) and if I ordered the strings online I wouldn't get them this week

    LD rules,

You will do fine with Z62. It is a lovely repulsive string.
You are a bit brave changing string and tension just before a competition. But you will do just fine. Let us know how it goes.

    LD_rules!

Don't string Z62 at SiW 35's best tension (28) because I'm quite sure you'll be doing a ton of restringing. Z67 on the other hand handles it quite alright.

Yes, But in a way I was desperate to try out the ZM62. It's only a league match, and the standard isn't really high so it shouldn't be a problem, I will report back on Friday after I have tested it.

I went with 24lbs with ZM62, I was going to go for more than 24lbs (usual is 26lbs) but wasn't sure about the durability so I played it safe and went for 24lbs.

you should be fine since ZM62 (0.62) at 24lbs will play like 27lbs when you use 0.7 string or 26lbs with 0.66-0.67 string (thinner string is tighter so it feels like it has higher tension compared to thicker string)

ZM62 feels nice for me at 25lbs. Durable and still nice power and control. 27lbs is when I get my own stringing machine :P
