And so does the ZM67 PT. Quite good.

The 67PT has quite a bit more bite to it than plain 67. It plays much more like ZM62 in respect to feel, power, and sound except for two important things. Drops and clears

I used 2 identical Panda Power Precisions strung identically (27/29, ECP 10% prestretch, 30second pretretch hold off of a doorknob). The PT performed better in almost every aspect:
+smashes were stronger and more accurate
+drives were crisper, quicker, flatter
+underhand serves soared high, doubles serves were tight to the net and landing an inch closer to the opposite serve line.
+hard drops were sharp and fast and tight to the net
+feel was superb, much closer to the sharpness of 62
Now the cons:
-net drops and tumbles were very inconsistent. They always either popped above the net by a foot or sank into the middle of the net. The original 67 was better in this regard. Net battles were much easier with original 67. With the 67PT, I would always either get killed or hit into the net by the third shot.
-not a con for me, but my partner (a serious ZM67 user), dislikes the sharpness of it. He found it usable, but preferred the original 67.

Summary: I approve of the new formula 82%. If it became my default, I'd probably lower my tension by a pound or two. I'm not yet amazed by the new PT, it takes a bit of time to get used to for the more touch based shots, but once used to it, I would probably not go back to the original.

I forgot to comment on clears. The extra stiffness of the ZM67PT prevented me from performing my usual clears in terms of height and distance. Lifts were relatively unaffected. This difficulty with clears (even though I mainly play doubles) is another reason as to why I'd drop the string tension by a pound if I made the switch

i also tried the ZM67PT. it is too stiff. imho it can be marketed but not as a ZM67. ZM67 as it stands today is a medium stiff string with nice repulsion. completely not the same as the ZM67PT.

this is exacty what I wanted to hear I just got my SW35 back with Optic Yellow ZM62, it's a different yellow to YY's (obviously) it's more Yellow and less green. I am looking forward to testing it tomorrow.

Same here. I just finished round 1 of string test. I'm going to cut up the ZM62 and try the other string. Is this a blind test? Are all the strings different?

So, a mini review (all I have time for just now)

String: Zymax 62
Racket: (The wonderful) Victor SW35 (3U)
Tension: 24lbs
Time (so far): 5hrs

First thing I will say is that this string is very good, although it took me longer than expected to reach this conclusion.
At first I was hesitant over the string. In the first hour with the string, I was quite hesitant to hit with 100% effort as I didn't want to break it

So onto the review:

For this I have totally disregarded any feelings I had about it from the first session, and I am purely basing it on Saturday and Today.

The string has lovely control, the touch at the net is fantastic. The volume of control that the string has is great. Crosscourt netshots are deceptive and you can delay your netshots longer and still end with a very precise shot.

Power is fantastic, any high serve that wasn't in the back half of the tramlines received a huge smash, which was not only powerful but very accurate as well.

I played a doubles match today, and found that when returning serve, the control and touch that I recieved was fantastic. And playing cuts and slices from the back of the court were very precise.

And that sound... I would buy the string again just to hear that sound. (it sounded like I was playing with a really high tension )

Next I will try 25-26lbs.

I am hoping this holds tension though

Has anyone done a detailed comparison between ZM62 and Li-Ning's AP-62 string? I'm thinking of ordering some string in the near future, probably a few packs of one of these two but I'm not sure which to go for. Can anyone help?

Upon doing some more detailed digging, that seems to be almost the case. I've just ordered 4 packs of ZM-62 because the general consensus seemed to be that it felt a bit stiffer and rougher than AP-62. It was also a little bit cheaper.

Thats how I felt, AP is slippy like SOTX 1040-65 and losese tension quicker than ZM62. I would say possibly marginally better for the first couple of uses but the benefit is so marginal the extra cost & longevity of performance isn't worth it (IMO)

just replaced my bg66 ultimax to zymax 62
how come zymax 62 moves alot? leaving wide random gaps, even at 24lbs, i've tried 20lbs and thought it was too loose, gave it a 2nd try but still happens
