Just been informed by my stringer that the new Zymax strings from Ashaway are here.
    62mm and 67mm.
Anyone tried these? Not cheap though so thought I'd ask.
    Thanks.

I've just ordered a 200m reel of each of them. They also do a 0.70mm version, but couldn't justify splashing out on 3 reels. They have a special offer on at the moment where the 2nd reel is half price, so they price is actually not bad - £75 + VAT for 2 x 200m reels.

They're out of stock right now as the stuff is just flying off the shelves, but I'm told it'll land on my doorstep in the next 7 days.

    Watch this space...

The U.S. market is different than the European and Asian markets. They usually get more options and a greater diversity of strings.

But yes, in this case, ZM in 0.62mm, 0.67mm, and 0.70mm are all available in the U.S.

    I got mine from www.ashaway.co.uk

The USA site www.ashawayusa.com doesn't seem to have been updated with the ZyMax badders strings yet - I suggest you contact them & ask, contact details are on the website.

Sir Dink, have you reviewed the ZyMax strings yet?

Had the .67mm strung in my racket.
    Aaaaand, it's fantastic.
Recommend it to anyone who is discerning.

Tension? And how does it compare to your usual string?

www.ashaway.co.uk are still awaiting reels of ZM62 & ZM67, but very kindly sent me a packet of each for evaluation - they landed on my doorstep this morning :)

Well, my stringing tension is peculiar but, since you asked.
    Cab 20SP 3U racket.
    26 Mains.
    36 Crosses.
    Works for me.

O_O, indeed peculiar :), just can't image how come the frame of Cab20 can keep its original shape at mains26 cross 36?

that is strange...you really are putting some serious pressure on the frame and its shape!

My former stringer who has high credentials, having been one of the official stringers at Wimbledon during the Tennis Championships worked out that by using 26mains/36crosses the load is spread evenly to 31lbs. And the strings feel bouncy as opposed to stiff or hard apart from the sweet spot.
And no, never has a racket caved in or any other issues.
Been using this now for many years.
I wouldn't trust any stringer with a machine with this. Too many cowboys out there. My present stringer(the other guy retired) is really good. Also best done on an electronic machine calibirated properly.
And I have used BG66 with no problems.

Please take photos of a newly strung frame with the said method and one that is two months old.

    Pete,
It is pretty interesting and if this is the case then your concern doesn't exist anymore because down the road the tension will even out.
"Unless someone can figure a way to make the top cross tie off as tight as starting the cross from the top, I will just start with 2PTD."
Also Pete if you are stringing your own racket wouldn't that be better to verify this by yourself rather than just taking his words on it.

totally moving off topic guys:rolleyes:....back to Zymax! can anyone actually give some solid feedback on how it performs..ashaway are describing it as:

"Quite Simply the Best Badminton String in the World"

wow, what a claim....can anyone compare it to top performing strings such as bg80, nanogy 95 in terms of, power, control, durability, and holding tension....much appreciated:D
