Hello badminton addicts... currently, i'm just watching at Hayom Rumbaka. I hope he can be the real rising star for Indonesia. Recently, he won Australia Open GP by beating Chan Yan Kit and Andrew Smith. I hope, he can do well in NZ Open GP. What about your opinion ?? Currently, he is in 74th world rank. and after Australia, i think he will be in top 60 world rank...
Hmm... he really deserved this thread? hehe.. Maybe someone can tell us more about him. But yeah, hope he can do better next tourney and becoming top MS.
Currently, hayom is still 20 yo and will be 21 yo someday in this year. he has got 2 international title : Banuinvest international and australian open gp. he also became runner up in vietnam challenge. all he got in this year. we can not also neglect some national circuit titles. in 2-3 months, he made a several good performances. 1st in banuinvest int., 2nd in vietnam int challenge, 2nd in jakarta open, and 1st in australian open GP.
Yep.. ..it's good he just won the Australia Open GP. But, we'll see what he's got in the next 2 or so yrs. Btw, remember also Andre K. Tedjono, who used to be called the "giant killer" and supposedly INA's next rising star?? if not mistaken, he also won the New Zealand Open in 2007??....do you know what happened to him??..
that last hurdle is always the hardest. you do sometimes get prodigies like Taufik, but they are few and far between. more often you get players who suddenly make a breakthrough, like LD or LCW and then dominate the game for a while until the new young star makes a breakthrough.
Yup, agree with u. Still premature to call one player is the rising star based on 1 title from GP level tourney when all top-names are absent. Let's see what will happen to Hayom in future...
Maria Kristin had been called the rising star after won the bronze medal. I hope this is our real new rising star! A lot of rising stars but only a few become the real stars.
There should be.. ..a question mark or two or three or four after the end of the thread title...DHR-Indonesia Rising Star????..
china doesn't stop at conquering making widgets, china can spit out a custom-made player to beat any foreign players kekeke
With a name like Dionysius he should be able to hold his own with the badminton "gods". http://www.theoi.com/Olympios/Dionysos.html (and hold his own in the bar afterwards)
You are right. That is a feminine sort of depiction. Sorry. Dionysius was a male god from Greek mythology. God of wine, and good times. Mostly a friendly guy, but he had a dark side too. He was the god who gave King Midas the "gift/curse" of the golden touch. His Latin name in Roman times was Bacchus. And nowadays just about every city in North America (and I'll bet Europe) has a "Bacchus restaurant" promising good food and wine. So the real mystery for a good BC investigator is to find out how an Indonesian shuttler got his name.
Hmm.. ..will you bestow the "gift/curse" of the golden touch to anyone who can solve the mystery??.. ..yep..everyone notice that??..
i guess that he is Roman Catholic.... in my place i had a lot of friends name dionisius... it must be a name of saint or Holy people in Catholic Roman Church.... if not true i'm sorry...
You could very well be right. The name has certainly been in use for a long time. Wikkipedia has all kinds of people through history with that name: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dionysius Here is one who was a monk: http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/05010b.htm
Again, Hayom prove his worth to be tne next Indonesian star. he won Indonesia International Challenge. This title is his 4th titles this year. This year, Hi has won Banuinvest International Challenge, Tarakan National Circuit, Australian Open Grand Prix, and Indonesia International Challenge. Go Hayom !!
I agree. Very impressive. He didn't encounter any resistance in all the rounds straight to he title. Seen his match on youtube. impressive
^^Most important now is..^^ ..after this title, what is he going to show us next??..How will he do in GP Gold and SS type tourneys??..
