    Welcome

From new member to new member...Welcome!

Excuse my ignorance of the game, but what makes Edmonton the city city of champions?

    Salut,
LOL...that was the kinda response that I wanted to get from a "thought provoking" title line. Thank you for replying, gal91. Welcome onboard to BadmintonCentral!
Edmonton is more known for its ice hockey than any other sports. Edmonton Oilers used to rule the NHL in the 80's when Gretzky, Messier were on board. I believe that's how the nickname is coined.
Badminton ain't huge here. Not at all. I can imagine having < 0.1% of the whole Edmonton population playing it. Day in, day out, you'll see familiar faces on the courts. But one thing that we are proud of is the fact that Canada's #1 male player is actually from this city.

    Thanks for the message, ctjcad!
Having been playing badminton on and off for the most part of my life, I'll definitely provide useful feedbacks whenever I can.
