My NS9900 is now shod in 66M (after the let-down of the gut experiment) ready for this evening. First impression is that it's quite a bit stiffer than BG66, which I always found very soft for a .66. Review will follow.

Both are correct but they also mean different things.
One, a thinner string will always feel more taut than a thick string at any tension. Two, AOTBE a thin string will be less durable than a thick string.
The above are technical reasons. It is possible that there are players who break strings easily due to wrong technique and/or miss-hits. This explains why some players have a habit of breaking strings frequently. I know a player who breaks his string almost once every two days, almost always from his powerful miss-hits.

First session with 66M last night, and so far I love it. It's probably the "sharpest" YY string I've ever tried, and plays significantly stiffer than 66. Good power if you can bend it, and control is outstanding. No tension loss so far that I can detect. Yonex may be onto a winner here.

Second - the more I play with this stuff (a good 20 hrs in now) the more I love it: none of the softness or durability problems I had with 66, and tension holding is very good so far. If the price, its only drawback, ever comes down I reckon it should replace BG66!
