13 years dint play badminton and now days trying to play back.. wish to get a racket which suit me .. can anyone guide me what to buy ? Urgent.. no racket to use.. i prefer yonex.. and back hand no energy :crying: cant smash nicely . 13 years before , i am still a good player :crying:
unfortunately my friend we cant provide you with the racket which will suit your feel and style. Only you can choose that. If theres a supplier available to you where you can pick up some rackets and have a look thats your best way. If you dont have much strength then id suggest a lighter racket,..in terms of yonex i dont particularly know which ones are light weight. But that would be something to consider. Goodluck sorry i cant help much.
have you used any rackets recently? what are your strengths? when you say you have no back hand strength and smash can you clear from one end to another? drive shots? drops? let us know more about what you want to play like(attack/defense), singles? doubles? best to get something close to something that you've used and enjoy. Good Luck!
play double.. defense i think is better . i smash sometime can be nice and sometime 7 years old also can defense using yonex carbonex 8x ... long time ago.. and it a bit curved .. actually back hand sometime can sometime cant reach behind .. and easier for enermy smash ..
just to let you know that a racquet doesn't make a difference in a individual's skill level. Its like saying which pop brand is good and still wanting to keep cause of preference. Have you tested your nanospeed 300? What racquet did u use before? What do you look for in a racquet? Also you should keep in mind that since your coming back to badminton you should just rally for the most part and not play many games simply cause ur coming back and you don't want embaressment unless you play the sport for fun.
racket is only for fun, it's like a new toy, other wise, your game really depends on your foot more than the racket, as long as you get to the bird in time with good position to hit, that's all you need. the racket is more of a person's taste. Although if you swing with alot of power, heavy racket wears you out quick (might not realize it). Lighter ones last you longer. however the light rackets doesn't generate enough power (if you're not very good with technique). So it really depends on how you want to play the game.
Hi I am almost similar scenario as you are, 15 years not touching this sports until flames on again. My skills just average, weak on back hand return too. After some good reading in this forums continuously for 2 weeks, finally get what I wanted. If you want some different options or feeling on handling, try some other brands: Proace, Ashaway, Fleet, SOTX, you can read some reviews by Dink-a-lot which provide very nice racquet too. If budget is not a matter, get a YY, if there's, get APACS which value for the price. Know the weight too, head heavy? Allows you to smash. Or lighter weight? allows you quick manovering or swing. The grip too affects your feels. Tension choose 23 for better control. Practice that and you will get yourself better each time, and recall the feels back. Above all, get a good pair of indoor shoe, more than a racquet. Just my preferences, not subjected to/for/against any others. Hope this will help.
If I can stop playing badminton and come back at the same level 13 years later, I think it would be a miracle. No shortcuts. Need to practice more.
