Ditto: "same reason". In other words: Debby's lower back injury caused the withdrawal of both pairs she was to be a part of.

I read it from 'The star' saying that LCW intended to withdraw from Macau Open because he feels very tired after WC. Is this true George?

Concur,....he desperately need a good rest.....

Misbun said he would allowed LCW to withdraw, but the training will be on going....no skip on daily training........

He will bounce back just like 2007 after WC defeat....;)

Both Lindaweni Fanetri and Aprilia Yuswandari should be withdrawn too as they are in the same qualifying pool

    Lindaweni Fanetri
    R1 vs Tse Ying Suet
R2 vs Chan Hung Yung [5]
R3 vs either Nitchaon Jindapol or Aprilia Yuswandari

    Aprilia Yuswandari [4]
R1 vs Nitchaon Jindapol -- tough one to beat and I don't fancy Aprilia to beat the Thai girl.
    R2 vs Hsu Ya-Ching
    R3 vs (likely) Lindaweni Fanetri

    which break?

The last paragraph of the following article of The Star is as follows
Do you mean "break" in term of holiday (resting, do your own stuff and nothing to do with work, in his case badminton) or "break" in term of skipping tournaments, but still in training?

LCW is playing at Macau Open, has not withdraw!

Yeah, you are right. It seems that

    Code:
    6:00 PM MS Chong Wei LEE [1] - Jiann Shiarng CHIANG 21-9 21-6 0:16	4
    from http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...F7055D-1CB8-4FF1-8F3B-0F9B8F19DA68&d=20090818

Hopefully he is mentally stronger this time around and win the Macau Open!

    I thought so, too..

..a bit surprised to see his name still in the draw..I guess he wants to at least bring home a title after his early exit in the WC..

not an easy task for Lee CW, who has fallen in dog fight with Chinese teenagers. He may win 1 or 2, but there are 3 entangled battle ahead:

vs Wang ZM: this is probably the most difficult one, because LCW knows nothing about Wang ZM who is actually very talented.

    vs Gao Huan

    vs Chen Long

    then after that,

    vs Taufik

    vs Chen Jin

    .......

Although Lee CW is probably better than all of them, but still extremely difficult to beat them all.

I saw many naive predictions on this forum, assuming 51:49; or 55:45;...

if Lee CW can beat every one of them by 55:45, then his chance of winning the title (you must think it's big) is actually very small: 0.55^5 =

only 5% which means impossible to win the title if he can beat everyone by 55% chance.

I think he wants to gain more ranking point so that he is far more ahead from the Chen Jin. LOL :D

I thought someone mentioned this CHN name as sort of a young rising star?

If this is the case, then the Datuk can't relax his game. What happens if he should be defeated again? Like what Cheng Long did to him not too long ago. I think it will do more damage to his already depressed confidence and morale!

Unfortunately, this young CHN rising star had to gruelling in 3 matches yesterday
Although he won all of them, he must be really exhausted as today he lost tamely to LCW :p
So this time, Datuk still lucky lah,
don't know bout tomorrow, though
    ...
As why he still decided to playing in this tourney,
as i mentioned before, maybe Macau Open is scheduled tourney from his sponsor :p
Or maybe he wants to keep his WR pts as last year he reach finale (lost to TH)
    CMIIW ;)

Required by Yonex?..Wants to keep his WR points??..

    ..or simply:
    1. He wants to get his first ever Macau Open GP Gold title in his pocket..
    2. He doesn't want to go back to M'sia empty handed (the least he could get is some prize money lah)..
