Dear Readers, I just bought my NanoSpeed 9900 however I don't know which string would be perfect for me? I am an above average player, I can smash but not that hard, I can net, and I can return smashes. However, I am having problems with power, forehand swing I can cope, but my backhand just plain sucks. I am able to return loops or smashes with backhand but it is just not strong enough to loop the ball to the end of the court. Thus I am looking for a string that may help me bounce the shuttle a bit more, although not too much which may give me a hard time on netting. So what is your recomendations on for the string for NS 9900? And in your opinion what is the best all-round string for NS 9900? Thank you in advance.
What was your previous string and tension? Possible choices: BG80 @ 23lbs - good overall, pretty good durability, good control + power BG66 @ 24lbs - more powerful than BG80, but breaks faster Bg65 @ 25lbs - very durable, but lose tension fast. Okay power and control Try going for the 80 or 66 unless durability is a real problem.
Personally, I like Ashaway MicroXL, BG80 and NBG98. I have one of my AS10s on BG80 27X29lb!!! Great. Awesome. Another AS10 on NBG98 29X32lb!!! Also great. I like both strings but for cost factors I would recommend BG80 to you. And string it at 25lb.
I used BG68Ti for my previous racket which is Ti-10. But then, I had problem netting, because the shuttle would keep bouncing too high and makes it easy for the opponents to smash it. It seems that a lot of people reccomend BG80, I might go with that one. Any idea which color would fit into my NS9900 color theme? Thanks.
You can buy BG80 in Wine red!! looks awesome on the Arcsaber 10. I think for the NS9900 that would look good.
IMHO I have a similar problem as yours, but I personally don't think a repulsive string is a good way to improve the situation. I'm currently using NBG95 on my 3UG4 NS9900 and I find the racquet too repulsive to be able to control properly when I feel I need to hold the shuttle just for a millisecond more in the frame to execute an angled shot. I'll be restringing it with BG65 at 24lbs (or 24x26lbs). You could give my previous string setup a try if you find the repulsion interesting =) By the way, to really help with your backhand, I suggest you train more. BG80 is also a pretty good alternative, I'm stringing it on my AT700 old colour, will post my findings in the future.
