I tend to play at varies hours everyweek..... since I am busy....so sometimes I play like 12 hours this week....and 5 next week.....

If I really(I mean REALLY!) want to improve, how often should I play? Can anyone please give me a rough guide as to how often I should play? I would appreciate it if you could also tell me what I should do to improve(like what drills I should do or something of that sort).

I will say play as much as possible (in affordable range of timely, finacially and physcially). Also, utlized the time, and train as hard as u can.

It's very hard to just specify a number here, but I will say, typically, 5-10 hrs could be a reasonable start.

Sadly, gr 12 next year, probably have to cut down from 3-4 times a week. I would play any chance i get, i call up my friend and go to his backyard and start driving the bird to each other cuz somehow its never windy in his backyard. He's getting mad though, cuz i keep bothering him and telling him to play every single day. He wants to "study". yea rite....

I play everyday basically. I've rested for a while at the moment for my exams but in the summer I will train 6 times a week for 7 hours a day and then play my singles league on sunday. Hard work but definately worth it for next season.

Remember that quality is better than quantity.

7 hours a day is fine, but make sure it is structured. Dont do more than 2hours physical work, first of all you will train your muscles to be marathon like, rather than sprint. Secondly how many times have you played a match for more than two hours. Thirdly at any level speed is paramount, and you cant practise speed for more than 30 mins, other wise you wont be improving it. Even the pros play if they play at full speed they slow down after 30 min (see any cai/fu match)

I play 3 times a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday except I play twice on Fridays. When my school team starts I'll be playing up to 6 times a week
