I used to only play with G4 grip sizes until I bought an MP100 CP version from Luxis.

It came with a G3 grip size. It took me a while to get used to the bigger grip size.
But since then, I don't feel comfortable playing with rackets with G4 grip sizes anymore.

I know you guys will say, "just add a few overgrips to make it bigger".
But I prefer to feel the bevels of the racket handle. And by adding overgrips, it makes the handle feel more "rounded", which is something I don't like.

So I recently bought an MP77 AS version (from Australia of course) with G3 grip size and it immediately feels extremely comfortable in my hands.

I want to get another MP77 (G3 grip size) but I can't find rackets with G3 grip sizes in Singapore.

Do any of you guys also have the same problem of being overly sensitive over the grip size of your racket?

    Interesting.....

Almost all Yonex rackets retailed in Australia comes in 2UG3 format, unless specifically ordered. And ALMOST always strung with BG65!

Just about never see any other sizes around..... Dunno why but they must think we Aussies have big hand and build like king kongs, so needing durable strings! :D

Hmmm, under that assumption I wonder what Yonex think of Americans since a lot of our racquets that I see here are 3UG5. :p

My MP77 is a G4 3U and I putt two overgrip on it. I was told that the bigger the handle the easier the smash. Any input on that?

    thinning

i have a friend who has modified his grip size to a smaller size to gain more control by sanding down the grip and covering it with varnish (as just sanding the wood would mean easy breakage of the handle, the varnish helps harden the wood). After this process he just relayered the grip with his preferred grip.

I can tolerate a G3 if I have to, but I'm only comfortable with a G4. I take off the original grip and put the terrycloth grip directly on the wood.

For me, I always like the "thicker" feeling. Therefore, I just try to put as much over grip as possible. I believe this can help my control.

    Hey he always has been!
Taking out the PBSI logo on the cone, taking away the "2UG3" stickers, using only one side of the racket, etc. :p

What's your personal experience on that?

Smaller grip equates to harder smash and better use of fingers for me. I use G4, no leather grip, two thin grips.

To me a large grip gives a significant increase in control, and little or no loss of power.

G3 + original grip + 1 or two layers of overgrip + towel grip... purrrfect!

    your hand is larger.

Mag, you are quite tall so your preference may be an adjustment to the relative size of our hands.;)

If I could have reached 5'10"........:(

Wah lau! That's big!Mag, do you hold ur racquet like the baseball player?
I'm 181cm and i'm consider the biggest in my family+friends...and i only can stick the supergrip on the original one...to produce power bla bla bla. I think i'll need 20 racquet for 1 game if i do something like u did mag, coz i'm going to smash and the racquet will go faster than the bird!!!:D sharp to my opponents side hehe:p
