Dear all, i just came from Beijing and really like to find a nice and friendly badminton club to start some excercise with. i heard there is this Bacon's College near Canada Water and Warwick club near Dulwich college. i have played badminton for a few years and consider myself as intermediate level (hopefully...). so can anyone here give me some advices on clubs that i could go to, which day of the week ( i prefer Weekends, btw) and the cost as well (because i heard Warwich one is £7.50 p/s and that is slightly expensive to me). or i can come alone with you if you already belong to a good club.

thanks a lot for your time and help, hope to hear some feedback from you all!:)

Bacons College on Tuesday and Wednesday, starts at 8pm, no need to book, just show up, cost £5 I think, two hours or longer if not kick out. Mostly Chinese players. Wednesday's level is quite high, so I've heard, go and see if you like it.
There's also a Friday but level is quite low. also a Thursday but thats members only, I can get you an invite if you like, its a very social club, mix of men and ladies players, all levels, yonex feather shuttles, 4 courts, lighting is ok.

Hi, just wondering if you are still playing badminton in bacons college every tuesday and wednesday night, cuz I'm struggling to find a place to play badminton after I moved to a small town to the east of London? Please let me know, cheers.

    Hi,

I will answer your queries in bullet form below

    Crystal Palace
    - we have 2 courts from 7 - 9 every Monday unless the monday falls on a bank holiday.
    - We generally have between 6 - 10 players.
    - Due to the venue having a swimming pool the court does get humid. Though the ceilings are high and the floor is generally in good condition.
    - Cost is £5.00 per person in a pay as you go method
    - We use feather shuttles
    - Harris Girls School is in East Dulwich on Homestall Road - SE22 0NR

I hope this answers your queries

Yes in theory happy for people to just turn up, although we do have a texting system which helps to have an idea of how many people are coming, to make decisions on whether some courts will play to 15 points due to the number of players.

Send me a PM for my contact details.
