Hey all :D i'm a new member. but anyways. i've been using the Armortec 500 for about 6-8 months now? and have been LOVING IT. shooting lobs are good. net shots are awesome. Lifting up high-high to the baseline. hehe. but maybe it's just me but. i'm not getting much from Smashing. :crying: Is it cause Medium-Stiff racquets are harder to smash?
Should i change to Less-stiffer shafts? for better smahsing power?
or power smashing comes from sitffer shafts?

and another thing. the At500 im using now isn't mine. my friend lend it to me. 'cause she doesn't play as much as i do. anyways, what racquet do you guys recommend after the AT500? as i've typed up there. I need smahsing power. do you guys recommend a less-stiff shaft?

P/S im an advance player. State-level :) thank you

You can consider the AT700 which I think is a step up.

    Heavier/same stiffness - AT700
    Heavier/ stiffer - AT900P
    Faster/stiffer - AT900T
    Lighter/same stiffness - ARC10

I think if you enjoy the weight of AT500 and want it maybe a tad heavier (you like the heavy feel), then you should go towards the AT700 which is around teh same stiffness.

BTW, BG66 is good enough for power, string at ~23lbs if you dont' know what to string at otherwise.

At600 is the lightest among the ATs. Most people say that the head heavy + flexible shaft = bad for high level players

ooh. i was just thinking of At600. really? bad for high level players?
hmm what about nanospeed? i want more smashing power. less stiff shaft perhaps? which series in yonex has a flexible shaft? Muscle power?

I would go for AT900 Power if I were you. AT900 Power has stiffer shaft which allows you to better control the ball's placement - which really helpful in dropshots, net plays as well as defensive plays but its head-heavy frame will allow you to produce powerful smashes whenever required.

Other than AT900P, my suggestion is to try Muscle Power 100. It's fairly similar to AT900P with lighter-head leaning toward well-balance racket.

Last but not least, stay away from AT600. I think Yonex made a huge mistake by including AT600 under Armortec Series. It has zero attacking power :(

In my opinion, a AT500 is better than the AT600.

AT600 is really bad in terms of power for good players.

hey! yeah thanks! now i got my choices narrowed down to two.
the MP100 and the AT900 Power. but i'm more on the MP100 ccause it's lighter. anything else similiar to the MP100? i like light racquets :)
    thanks teoky. At600 nono :D

Well, AT600 is basically your own opinion. If you look it up on BC, some people actually do like the racket as it suits them. But at your level, I think it won't do you well.

The MP100 is quite nice. Pretty solid shots. The only problem is that you might have to find it since it is uncommon nowadays.

so yeah, if you don't think you'll be able to find a MP100, you probably should go for the AT900 power 4U

balance point wise I would say nanospeed 9900 would probably be the better choice if you are advanced and likes the AT500..

If you want to save money you should really look at other brands.. for example Hi-Qua® ArmorAce 900, which also has abot 280mm BP but overall has better quality materials used thna 500 at a lower cost..
