This will be held next week in Mokpo, Korea. Korea's top juniors will be there. I don't know about China or Japan, though.

KOREA-CHINA-JAPAN JUNIOR SPORTS EXCHANGE - China Tops Hosts

The 17th annual Korea-China-Japan Junior Sports Exchange Meet finished today in southern port city of Mokpo, Korea. Day 1 saw the Korean boys take care of the Japanese contingent 4-1 while the Korean girls team blanked the Japanese 5-0. Japan had dealt Korea an early elimination from the mixed team event of last month's Asian Junior Championships but for this tournament, all of Korea's top players were on hand, including Choi Young Woo, Jeon Yong Hyun, Lee Joo Hee, Sung Ji Hyun, and Eom Hye Won. All are national high school champions and are in their last year of juniors.

Japan, meanwhile, was represented by all the boys from winning effort in July but none of the girls. Ironically, the only point for Japan on the day came when Okamoto Takuma / Tsukamoto Yoshiki beat AJC semi-finalists Kang Ji Wook / Choi Seung Il in straight games. Okamoto/Tsukamoto were the only boys there who did not participate in the 3-1 drubbing in Kuala Lumpur but they were runners-up in a recent national high school tournament.

On Day 2, however, the Chinese team proved just as dominant over even Korea's top juniors as the Chinese boys and girls beat their Korean counterparts 4-1 and 3-2 respectively. Korean high school singles and doubles champion Choi Young Woo took Asian Junior Champion Tian Houwei to three games and he and classmate Jeon Yong Hyun got the only point for the boys when they beat Li Gen / Tang Songhua in two.

Sung Ji Hyun may have been cutting her teeth on Korea's national team, beating the likes of Hwang Hye Youn and Zhou Mi this summer, but she still couldn't handle China's Asian Junior Champion Chen Xiaojia. Chen took China's initial point, beatin Sung 21-17, 21-16. Eom Hye Won, too, has already gone toe-to-toe with Athens Olympic champions Zhang/Yang twice this year but AJC finalists Xia Huan / Luo Yu got the better of Eom and German Junior Open champion Lee Joo Hee, edging the Koreans 21-12, 20-22, 21-18 to seal the third point for China. Eom, herself a singles gold medallist in Germany last year, took one singles point for Korea by beating Deng Xuan while Choi Hye In also went 1:1, losing in singles to Yao Xue but beating Chen and Liu Xin in doubles.
