Hi , this just happened a few hours ago actually, i was playing some intense singles and on one shot i was forced to the back of the court (forehand side). I tried to play a drop i think but as my other hand came near my racket hand trying to guide it to the shuttle, i kind of hit my middle finger as well :crying:. It dint hurt too bad when i hit it but when i looked at it later, the tiplooked kind of black and blue lol and i may have cracked th nail slightly as well. Any advice on treating it ??

Is this on your off hand? If it is, then it should heal in a week or so. Fingers receive a lot of blood flow, and thus heal faster than other areas. So give it a week, two weeks tops, and it should be okay.

Now if you cannot bend the finger, then you should definately get it looked at.

yeh theres really not much you can do to treat fingers. If you want to minimize movement just strap the injured finger to the finger next to it. Lightly with some basic thin strapping or electrical tape.

Other than that even going to the doctor they wont do anything apart from say, "try not to use it for the next couple of weeks and it will be fine."

If in a couple of weeks your experiencing joint problems or movement problems then by all means go and ask to be referred to a specialist.

Yea. I've seen worse happen. Someone actually managed to break their finger once when he didn't put down his off hand fast enough for his smash swing, cuz he was trying to be deceptive and trying to pretend to clear. To add insult to injury, his racket cracked too at impact. You got off lucky ^_^
