I am a new player (2months playing time) and i have a tournament coming up. I was wondering if someone could answer some questions for me. U19 BTW 1. Do i have to be part of a club to participate in tournaments? 2. How early should i arrive on the day of a tournament? 3. do they give you warm up time before the matches? Thats all i can think of atm. But ill keep posting if i need help. Please someone help me with this. It will be well appreciated. =D
1. depends on the tournament, if its a club 1 or a open 1 2. b there about 10 - 15 mins before hand, so u can register and jus so u r in no rush. Nice to jus inspect the court, what grip is like, lighting, height of roof etc jus so u arent caught un aware! 3. Yes there will always be a warm up, in many of my tournaments, players will hit about a bit until every1 is registered and then jus b4 each match, the shuttle is generally hit around 4 few minutes until both players feel they are ready Hope this helps

TWO MORE QUESTIONS PLEASE! 1. Do i need to be part of a club to sign up for a tournament? 2. I know i'll sound like an idiot but what is "Varsity"?
1. It depends on the organizer. There is what you call "open tournaments," meaning it's open for everybody. There are also tournaments that are exclusive only for club members. 2. Varsity - the principal squad representing a university, college, school, or club especially in a sport (Merriam-Webster's 11th Collegiate Dictionary)
I have everything i need. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! I can see i have chosen the best place to ask questions. BC is amazing!
Remember! Give us a heads up about what happens! Also, don't be discouraged if you lose your games. Remember Pro's and good players have lost tons of games before, thats how they improve.
