Li-Ning mid-end racquets are in stock but no N-series range yet. They will be in probably later this year. Likely their price will be more competitive than in Singapore i.e. more than 30% off the Li-Ning sticker price.

The old Yonex wooden racquets on front display are for not for sale. They are the owner's private collection.

I had a feel of Wong Choong Hann's current racquet the Dunlop Aerogel Tour (blue) which it has a stiffer shaft then the Dunlop Aerogel Elite (Gold) which are priced the same. These are the current Dunlop's top-of-the-line racquets. The Tour is more appealing to me with its stiffer shaft. Quality is good and paintwork and cosmetics looks top-notch. On top of that the price is very reasonable and appealing. This will most likely my next racquet on my next trip there.

They have Asics Gel indoor-court shoes which is something to KIV in future.

Took the opportunity to snap a couple of pics of his last piece Made in Japan Yonex Carbonex 8 Tour SP. Sticker price on the handle is before discount. Almost tempted but will stick with the Dunlop Aerogel Tour.

Anyway Honly have a much wider range of Carbonex, Made in Japan racquets.

    Thanks for the photos.

Is this the shop which used to be located in KOMTAR (next to city square) circa 2006/2007? :)

I lost contact with the owner, and been searching for it since.

Yes it is. If there is anything you need and its not in stock, you can leave your contact details with Andy and he will give you a ring when they arrive. Saves you the call overseas call from Singapore and making a trip there.

    Hi guys,
The boss is very polite man. His stringing is pretty good. I bought my RSL rackets from him;) His pricings match Hongly Trading's one. Good service. Can collect yr racket pretty fast.

It is quite easy to get to Honly. This is what I did last week.

    1) Take Mrt to Kranji station.
    2) Take the CW1 bus, it is S$0.80 to the JB customs.
    3) After you clear JB immigration, just follow the sign that says JB Sentral/City Square.
    4) Take cab from City Square. Alot of the taxi driver will not know where Honly is, so tell them you want to go to The Store at Taman Sentosa. Honly is located just before The Store, it is on the left hand side of the road leading to The Store. That road is one way street and it is slightly uphill.

On your way back, just retrace your steps. Take a cab back to City Square and then make your way to the JB customs/immigration. After clearing immigration, take the CW1 bus back to Kranji MRT (RM$0.90).

You can also take the CW2 bus from Queens Street if you live near there. There are SBS buses that goes to JB customs but they have more stops so I don't take those.

thanks so much for providing such detailed description on how to get to honly.

most probably i will go over to permai sports 1st since it's near city square. if can't find anything i like then will take a cab down to honly.

are the prices at these 2 shops very competitive? or will there be like at least RM15 difference for the same racket?

I would say Permai Sports prices are more competitive but they lose out in product range and variety.

Another shop you may want to check out is:

    Mega Sports
69 Jalan Keris, Taman Sri Tebrau
    80050 Johor Bahru, Johor
    Shop Propreitor: Joseph Tan
    Tel: 07-334 4763
(store is opposite a Roman Catholic Church which you can see in the reflection of the glass store front)

Very knowledgeble and gives you good advice on everything about badminton.. even on which court to book in a sports hall to get optimum flight from your shuttlecocks.

Product range and variety is about the same as Permai and prices are pretty competitive also. Bought a tube of Fleet Silver Shuttlecocks from them. It is within walking distance from Honly (about 15 mins walk) which I did with my friends to Honly from there.

Below is a picture of the store front. Bottom two are Honly with the second picture the current store front with Li-Ning posters. Similar to Permai no N-series yet but only mid-end range.

    Honly Trading Company
3, Block I Lien Hoe Complex, Jalan Sutera, Taman Sentosa
    80150 Johor Bahru, Johor
    Tel: 07-331 6676
