A number of weeks ago, I was playing an interesting doubles match!

We were on the attack and I was the front doubles partner...bending down low, concentrating, preparing (just in case) to Swat some Flies...waiting for my partner's Incoming smash.

Then all of a sudden...Whac-A-Mole!...It didn't hurt much but that's not the point of this thread.

This was the first time I have ever "heard" a shuttle before!

It was a plastic shuttle (Mavis 300), and it made a "shshsh-ooo" sound.

How it sounded like was, (keeping your teeth together) begin the "sh" with your lips open as if you're smiliing, and then quickly end with your lips puckered for the "oo".

I was wondering, does a feather shuttle make a different sound? or maybe it's totally stealthy?... You won't be able to hear it coming...OUCH! :crying:

Does one brand of shuttle make a different sound from another? :D

For those who think I've gone crazy....
