Advice for Nikon d90 lenses

It's interesting to know why ppl change their system. Is that mean you from 1DMKIII to D90? Which body do you usually use in sport photography?

i seldom do sports photography.
canon is kind of upsetting me. focusing problems, new models coming up like no tomorrow. what if i bought 50D couple months ago and now 7D?
i am more slow down in photography now. kind of busy and tired.

sorry, I misremebered you were the one who is a professional sport photographer using 1DMKIII that I saw in another thread, but I couldn't find it now.
Totally agreed with the Canon focusing problem, it seems to be better with lastest model, i.e. 5DMKII is much better than 30D.

spending too much previously, now just get what i want is enough.
not going to spend USD5-7k and not earning back with those equipment.
decent good capable camera + few lenses are more than enough for enthusiast.

I am planning to sell off my film-based canon SLR and speedlite as well and to buy D90, any recommendation for me to sell off at good $.

body will be hard to sell or sell at good price.
lenses and speedlite may fetch something. depending on type and condition.
or... just stay with canon dslr.

you should get the new sigma 70-200 f/2.8 EXII fast AF than tamron

option C; which is i am doing now (still acquiring 2 lenses)

1. tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 (great low budget fast lens)
2. tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 (great low budget fast wide lens)
3. tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 (good low budget fast telephoto lens, the AF not fast though)

if your really serious about it you wont bother to get the 55-200mm VR its way to slow at f/4-5.6 save up for a f/2.8 it will be worth it

yes, sigma is faster, much faster. but, it is not as sharp as tamron. from 135 till 200mm, it performs poorly. after think for a while, getting a 200mm f/2.8 and not performing, kind of bad idea. furthermore what if added with 1.4 or 1.7X teleconverter?
is up to individual, either pick good performer or good AF. want both world plus VR, get the Nikkor AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8 at 2X ++ price.

completely agree! haha i know the sigma works good with its own sigma TC but cant comment on tamron TC and nikkor TC. it all depends if you want more IQ or fast AF.

I'm in a similar situation as well and I'm not too sure what I should be doing:
Currently: D90, 18-105, 50.8, SB600

What I was thinking was tio get rid of the the kit lens and get am A16 (B005 IMO is not worth the extra money) and buy a good telephoto.

also recommend the 35/1.8. i find myself using the 35mm focal length much more than 50mm. i eventually sold the 50mm and the 35mm is my most used lens.

you have 18-105. now, go out and shoot. set it at 35mm and then set to 50mm. then you will know which focal length is the most useful to you.

The 50mm lens is quite cheap (around US$100) here. That is one primary reason I am considering it also as my friend uses it often to take close-up pics.
