Recently, I have started to love the sideline smashes (the smashes landed on the sidelines, hard to defend because of the wide distance), I found it has been very effective in doubles game

Singles......I haven't play it lately in past a month

the shot i like best are the rimmers, i swing so fast that the opponents thinks i'm smashing and when it hits the rim or shaft of my racquet, it becomes a shot that they don't expect

Backhand smash, the most difficult shot in my opinion to use effectively...but at the same time so rewarding when ur opponent is stunned by it ...

yea well i guess you can say that its difficult but its easy to know that your going to do it so your opponent can prepare to return it unlike if you mask all your forhand moves(ie. smash, drop, and clears, etc) to look the same the backhand smash just stands out and can be easily returned but it is a good move none the less.

Cool Delayed/deception Shots and optical irritation

I prefer the delayed/decepted shots. If you are in your own rythem you can break your oponents timing very well with this. Of course you need a yery perfect technique to do this. The second "weapon" is optical irritation: If you swing out the racket (after a quick shot) in an other direktion than the shot goes (cut shots) your opponent time to return that shot is very short.

Deception shots are really frustrating or really cool.

Yes, depending on whether you're on the receiving end of it or not. The ideal shot would be undiscernable with little to no hints of telegraphed direction, as this will force your opponent(s) to wait longer to receive it. We all should aim for that consistency.

In my opinion theres nothing more satisfying than sending the shuttle rocketing down infront of your opponent in a "dead" (dead?) smash, and watching the results that follow. I.e Opponent trying in vain to reach it; spectators reactions.

I also enjoy a little bit of showboating from time-to-time, a cheeky return through the legs/behing back etc

IMO a bit to broader question to beable to make a poll on...

mmm. I just thought of it, I did a few of those yesterday, deceived everyone alot of times but then I'm wondering how much stress the racquet takes. I hit mine at the top of the string bed near the top of the frame.....

    mmm.
