Hi everyone. I'm a first time poster but long-time lurker here at BC.

Anyway, I was wondering whether it is safe to string at relatively high tensions (28-30Lbs) on a machine with 2 point mounting. I know that when stringing tennis rackets, the mounting system doesn't really matter - is this the same for badminton?

lots of threads on here on 2pt machines

28-30lbs are possible as long as you're experienced, fast, and racket conditions. good luck ;)

For Yonex, I would not recommend you to go anything higher than 25x28lb on any 2 pt machine. Unless you are very experienced and quick. Yes, I do string up to 33 lb on 2 pt machine, however, I also use support bar to be safe.

Now that U mention it I was wondering if there was not a sort of 'cross-bar' which we introduce to keep the sides from 'caving in' when going beyond recommended tensions? Not only photos but if we can get a supplier too. thnx.

I'm pretty sure that Kris (krisss) made a thread about a similar thing a few months ago (or at least concerning those stress relief bar things. Ah yes, here it is.

Prince/Ektelon Neos 1000 is a two point machine. It is the industry standard for 20 years. It is 100 percent safe to do 30 LB on it.

Went thru the link/s above and found that all the 'cross-bars' actually hold the racket on the OUTSIDE. A 6 point machine does the job equally. I was thinking more like a cross bar holding the frame on the INSIDE. Sorry if this sounds the amateur which I am.

No, doesn't sound amateur. In fact Pete, SH and other discussed similar stuff in THIS thread. Where the current topic of cross bar was introduced by Pete.

OK, so can anyone tell me where to get one of these cross-bar things then?

Thanks for all the help you've given me so far.
